"Have to see it right away" does not trump my personal safety. If the weather wasn't safe to drive in, forget it.

Can't. Roads aren't plowed yet. We're also in a State of Emergency which means only emergency vehicles on the road. Seeing a house is definitely not an emergency.

Not in our area. When the abundant snow falls, the local authorities want us to stay off the roadways unless it is an emergency need to travel. We both have AWD but even that capability can just get you into deeper trouble than a regular car would!

'Are you at the curb?"
No.
"Great, call me from the curb when the roads are clear."
Yes.
"I will be there as soon as the roads are clear."

NO WAY! We have over a foot of snow on the ground already and it's still coming down hard. It would be irresponsible to encourage anyone to drive in these conditions.

I suppose it depends more on safety, and any restrictions the community might have about parking and people being on the road. I find it hard to imagine it is THAT critical to see a property in the middle of a serious storm

Depends on how blizzardy and dangerous it is out. We have 4wd and ability to work through snow and know how yo drive in it, but if it is a safety concern then it may not be worth it.-Kasey

First I would question their sanity, second I would say a home is not worth one's life, that interest rate is too high.

We don't 'get' that in the magickal land of AZ . . . but flip it over and it's a raging monsoon with flash flooding. Why does the customer have to see it 'right away'? Is it possible to wait till the weather improves? Then no.
If it's a client, maybe, depending . . . but also probably not and there would likely not be such a request to begin with.
Safety first!

In a blizzard NO.. they tell you to stay off the road unless its an emergency.. there is no such thing as a SHOWING a house EMERGENCY ;-) certainly not worth risking your life or someone else's over.
5,877,335
Probably, I have an SUV, and at least you most likely would not be competing with another buyer!

Depends on the safety of the situation. And, is the house vacant? Will the owners agree? How serious of a buyer are they? Are they under a rep agreement?
We've conditioned the public that we jump when they snap their fingers. Wrong message. We're professionals. We need to respect our time and expertise as well as our clients' needs.

Nope. I'm from Florida. As a community service I stay off the roads when there's any hint of ice or snow.

We don't have blizzards here but I have shown in rain storms - does that count?

Not in the middle of a blizzard. Not only would GETTING there be tough, but where the heck would one park? The driveway wouldn't be clear, the path to the house wouldn't be clear, etc. I'd say no.

Virtual Realty Consultants - no showings today - only desk work! (And cleaning driveway at 11 PM!)

I can't relate to this snow you speak of? But, if my safety was at risk, no.
216,904
Depends...I have done it when the drifts were 3ft and the agent said walks were clear....only to arrive and find the high drifts, no shoveling and my buyer waiting. We have great plowing around here, so main roads were fine.

No..your roads aren't plowed yet! As Wayne and Jean Marie Zuhl said "they're in a State of Emergency which means only emergency vehicles on the road! Seeing a house is not an emergency!!"
3,988,013
You've got to use common sense and since the buyer has none then you will have to think for him.

No... I won't compromise my safety or that of a client. Besides, most sellers who might be stuck in their homes on such a day would also probably rightly refuse a showing.
3,416,038
I sure would if i could get to it safely and the seller said yes. I did have to head out only once today for a seller without her laptop to sign an offer the old fashion way. A sale is a sale

Sure but it would depend on how far away it was & not during peak rush hour. I've shown houses after 18" of snow has fell. Just don't park in the unplowed driveway.
715,782
We had a tough winter and yes, we had agents showing property in thigh high snow - and successfully writing deals. As long as it is safe to drive, it is your business and if you can get to the home to show it, I would.
129,698
If they are a well qualifed buyer ready to purchase, yes because I have a all wheel drive vehicle. . . . .
409,203
If they were pre-qualified and had signed a buyer's rep agreement - definitely! Unless I was up skiing in the fresh powder. I sold my first home of the year on January 1st and had to snow shoe to the cabin to do it. At least with the Blizzard you shouldn't have to compete with multiple offers and simultaneous showings.
