Take a deep breath, ask myself Did I give it my all? What can I do better next time?, and move forward. Its not always about "me" 

I've had that happen only once... when they insisted on making too low an offer on a home, which I told them would lose them the home and it did. Of course, then they were mad at me... in situations like this let it go... as often as not these are not truly motivated buyers/sellers or those that will make your life a living hell.

Have not had that happen, but If it did, I would like to find out why so it does not happen again. 

Move right on past it.  My listing agreement and buyer rep agreement includes a clause that either party can terminate at any time for any reason.

I don't know but, I would probably think that they decided to shoot themselves in the foot and go with the listing agent!  

I haven't had a client drop me but, I surely do get a ton of calls from buyers thinking I'm the listing agent - and they don't listen to ANY advice about representation and having someone work in THEIR best interest!  ;-)

IF that did happen, I'd probably be hungry and eat a hot potato, because that would be on my mind. 

Well I suppose the first thing I would do is try to find out why... if I can't fix it this time perhaps its something I can change for the future

Dance a jig! I've only been dropped by a few clients because I changed my policies and they didn't like the change. It would have made them more money, but I didn't mind that they left because they were time suckers!

Move on to the next.  Clients are finicky.  I've had buyers leave their agent for me and then three months later stop returning my calls.  Like a summer's breeze they come and go.

I have never had a "client" drop me like a hot potato.  I have had prospects stop communicating with me. I recently started sending those folks a thank you note and wishing them all the best.  

Has never happened to me, but I would attempt to ask them how I can do better for the next client

Never had it happen, but in my younger years did drop a few myself for very poor reasons!

 I don't know.  It has never happened.  On the converse, I have dropped a few clients because they were time-robbers, or they were unrealistic.

I have not had it happen. I have dropped 2 clients ever, one was always drinking and very mean and the other made horrible offers and would not listen. Less than half price in a good market

Say thank you and move on.

Never happened to me.

The very few times I dropped the client, it was no surprise to them.
