I'm not a believer in introductory letters.... shouting out that you're new and don't know your way to the ladies room is not the ideal way to secure business.... strut as if you've been this for years....

What is the purpose of the letter? Is she sending it out to friends and family? Is she putting it on a website, blog or social media? Is she doing a notice in the newspaper? What information is she trying to get out to the public, just that she got licensed?

I have an exceptional letter that your friend should use.

I think agents need to quit giving away stuff.

So, your friend and perhaps yourself must be willing to help me test a lead generation program as reciprocity for an exceptional letter.  It will involve providing information you already have or can fabricate if you wish, and most certainly information a new agent should possess, that I will enter in preparation for the test.

You know how to let me know.

The new agent should focus on building her referral network.

I love Barbara Todaro's response!  I did have an assistant who just got her license back in November.  She sent out an intro letter, stating that she was now licensed but, still working with me and that if they knew of anyone who needed our assistance to let her know.  I will be Closing 6 this month and 2 next month JUST from that letter - and paying her a referral fee as well!

OH and she only sent out 100 letters to her friends and family!

I think the fact that she stated that she is working with an experienced agent worked well for her...instead of saying she was 'new,' she elaborated about the team.

If the letter is going to her contacts and friends and not the general public, I have a couple of suggestions. Your friend should make the letter short and to the point. We are a busy society and want to get quickly to the message. Make sure your friend relays how excited he is to be in this career field and is ready to serve. The letter should be followed up with a personal visit or phone call. Sending it to the general public in my opinion will not have any positive effect.

Not a good idea that you just entered the business. Rather send a letter to all SOI that she is full time needing leads.

In CA every person has a relative or friends who have obtained a realtor license but do not know what to do.

A new agent is not being valued as no one wants to take a chance having someone not verse and mess up a listing......

Ginger I don't have any of those type of letters on hand. Most of our agents created what was best for their spheres of influence - because they really know their 'peeps'. That's what I'd suggest for her.
