Yes, many of the articles on my WP site are pillar posts. I am slowly going back through some of the older content and turning those into more epic/how-to/list/etc. articles. It is a slow process that I should have started years ago. Live and learn.

I am not familiar with that terminology however I was taught in my early days on ActiveRain that a blog post should be between 200 and 250 words to maximize people's attention span .

We are not into writing Googlish (writing for Google and its bots).  We write to our market, and so far so good.  Our blog is syndicated and reaches over a million people, and no, we don't think they all read it...A

I'm not familiar with pillar posts. From your description, it sounds like a post I sometimes call a resource post - where you've got it all in one place for people to refer to.

I don't.... and should.... but probably won't.... I write narratives when I have the urge.... "a thought for the moment" kind of post.... no pillar posts....

Annette - I have not intentionally written pillar posts in the past, but may have a couple of them. Sounds like I should write more of them, so thanks for the idea.

I'm with Barbara Todaro but, mine have been written and I do link to them in other 'narrative' posts that I write now.  They've been written for years and are tweaked about once a year!
