Not sure what you mean by flip or flop. Almost sounds like a politician

In the past, I watched these shows for the entertainment value...which is best summed up with a y-a-w-n.

I have watched them.
What I learned was that there are a lot of people out there with more money than brains.

I do not.
I used to watch HGTV when Mike Holmes was on and Paul James' Gardening by the Yard and shows like This Old House. I'm not seeing much value in the new shows, they are soap operas...have you seen how many hosts are in the news and tabloids for fake this and fake that. I made a bit of a comentary on this tonight, so funny you asked this. I know we have to be on top of what our clients are huffing, but I limit it severely.

I don't. First, they are too "formulaic" for my taste so after a while it's "same old, same old." Second, there is nothing real about these "reality" shows and sets people up with unrealistic expectations as to what it costs, how long it takes, potential profit, etc.

Yes, I watch a few of them, but I only watch the last 10 minutes. That way I can see the before & afters without having to sit through the whole show!

We can learn to be realistic about what it really costs and how long it takes, and realize that what they say and show is not the reality. It could provide some inspiration for people to take on remodeling projects and perhaps provide some ideas

Yes and yes. Even though they are staged for TV. The couple from Waco is opening a branch office in my town now. So I'll get to see first-hand how real they are.
Went to the Texas Flip and Move house site in Rhome and it is completely staged for TV. The bidders are all paid actors.

Yes, I watch them (drives my husband crazy) and I am amazed at the transformations that take place. I learn about new products and finishes that haven't made it to my area.
711,852
I watched them a few times, but they are not realistic as to what we do. My contractor husband finds the prices they quote for their work totally unrealistic as well.
1,844,301
Yes I do & I think they offer some great information & other things you just have to take with a grain of salt. I think that Joanna Gaines decorating is just too country for me & I'd die living in a house with that much 'cute'. Others it would be ok.
It's good for people with no vision.
5,583,278
NO, I don't watch them....I've done enough fix and flips in 39 years to not need to watch them...

No, I do not. IF there is anything to learn ... I'll take the risk of missing that RE education.
