I think the answer depends on what YOU need in your business. Think about how you want to conduct your business, what your goals are, what kind of clients you want, where you want to work, and then start interviewing brokers. Make sure to take the time to make the right selection first. There can be financial impacts of moving later.

Someone that fits your needs, but I would thnk honesty, integrity, accessbility, and willingness to provide good training and mentoring

Good rapport and a broker who has a goo mentoring and training program.

We are all different but you surely want a broker that has a good amount of knowledge of the real estate business, is trustworthy, has integrity and has time to help you get started in the real estate business.

Names. It is REALLY good if you can get names.

Then you want to assess by things you can actually measure. Give me a list of 'qualities' you can measure sitting at the desk for an hour?

The reality is, a real estate agent IS a small business owner. At this very moment you are going to choose if you are pursuing a business or a hobby. A business owner lets the facts, the data guide their steps.

As a business owner you need the broker to answer two and only two OBJECTIVE questions. Objective questions and response are measurable. After that it boils down to 'Can you follow directions?"

One that provides the services you need.
