Although the Tempur-pedic Breeze changed our lives, I would recommend going to a mattress store with well trained and knowledgeable folks who can help you identify what works best for you.  We went to Sleepy's and the guy spent literally 45 minutes with us, going from mattress to mattress.  It was a great experience and really nailed it for us.  Good luck!!

You should contact a mattress expert, your account and attorney.

Or buy a Tempurpedic. The cooling aspects with a gel cooling pillow do work the provide a recuperative rest.

There are 2 mattress stores on every corner in my area. Very confusing that they aren't all selling the same things with a different 'cover'.

Good luck ...

I wish I had a recommendation, Roy. For years I purchased mine from Boyles in North Carolina--they had fabulous mattresses sold under their name. Alas, they closed their doors a few years ago after decades in the business.

Roy,

So much depends on your needs.

For getting in and out of bed easily:  a low profile bed with a 12" to 14" pillowtop is wonderful
For different comfort preferences: try a Sleep Number mattress
For back pain: consider a Tempur Pedic, (although some people claim they are warm)
Whatever you do: make sure it's a no-flip mattress!

You can't go wrong with a Sealy Posturepedic. If I were shopping today, I would look at some of the new bamboo content mattresses with no chemical off-gassing- (yuck!)

In any event it's worth accessing Consumers Reports for a month to make an educated decision.

Good luck!

Daryl

It's very personal, you literally have to try them out in the store. We do enjoy our Tempurpedic, but even within those there are different degrees of firmness.

Matresseses are insanely difficult to buy IMO.   The last one we bought the store had some technology that when we laid down it did some kind of metric to tell us what the best firmness of mattress to get for how we lay, our weight, height, etc.  Who would have thought there were technological advances for buying mattresses.  Anyway, they then showed us which mattresses matched our metrics and we tried them out, picked one and we actually love it, so maybe the tech is legit.  Find a store like that? -Kasey

This subject has plagued mankind since its inception. I got as far as: A firm mattress with a soft topping. It is recommended that you try different ones either at stores or hotels before buying as they are usually no money back propositions. Note: The head must be slightly elevated and the neck subject to an angle which means a cooperative pillow with mattress of choice. Costco has some good money deals and they take it back too. Name brands dont necessarily mean anything. Online reviews is the way to go
