Full time does not mean "sucessful" nor does it mean that's all they do - they could also be in administration or other aspect which could be the result of few sales.

Also, if on a team the agent may not be getting credit for all closings

A full time Realtor does not have another job. A full time Realtor works a minimum of 40 hours a week. Most work more hours than that, actually.

"Full time" means they have some command of four letter words.

I have yet to meet a full time realtor whose name is not Annette Lawrence.

I would guess the default meaning of 'Full TIme' is this agent does not, at any time of the day, man the checkout register at Big Lots.

It's a term with no real definition.  I'm what some would like to call a "part time" agent, but that term wouldn't be accurate at all.  I prefer the term "dual career".  Real estate is actually my 2nd full time occupation.  There's not a lot of free time in my life as a result, but I'll typically sell 20-25 homes a year.  Bill

Your main focus, your profession;

not just a part time opportunity to pick  low hanging fruit.

It this ft agent only had two transactions in 12 months she may want to consider a new full time venture.

When I think of F/T Agent I think of someone who's doing it as their sole source of income, does it to "make a living" & sells more than 2 properties a year. It's a little deceiving saying your a F/T Agent yet you don't rely upon the income; Real Estate is just a "Hobby" for you.

There are license real estate agents that have a regular full time job 8:00-5:00 and they are helping friends and family members with real estate transactions in their off times. Normally these agents do not know what they are doing and do not have the training to fully represent the public. They may have one transaction per year or none.

I do know what the statement "I am a full time Realtor®" means.  Their career is real estate and they belong to the National Association of Realtors®  they pay their dues, are always training to gain more knowledge and work hard to make a living in our profession. You are working with a professional that will guide you and protect your biggest investment; your home.  That's what that statement means to me.

More empty words... sort of like multi-million dollar producer. Hackneyed and over-used. If she's only sold 2 homes in 12 months, I'd really like to know what she's doing "full-time."

First of all it is my main job and I offer my clients my full commitment and service from A-Z. I think, most of the agents are ''full time'' unless they offer limited service, like listing in mls for $200 flat fee.  You see, in this case, they still might have many listings and even many closings, but they certainly do NOT provide a client with full service.

Not all sales are in the MLS. If they are earning enough from real estate, and working 40 hours per week, they can be considered full time. Even if they don't earn anything, they can still be considered working full time. And, yes, many full time agents have second jobs that don't interfere with their real estate business. I believe agents use "Full Time Realtor" because of good % of the public has a negative impression of "part time agents" and assume part time agents can't provide the same service a full time agent can.

Full time to me is working a minimum of 5 days a week (most weeks i work 7 out of 7) and a minimum of 8 hours a day (i wor 12 hours plus on weekdays) to sell real estate. It means they do not have a "real" or ther job.

Well Jim Cheney sadly she represents the National Average Realtor.

They sell maybe 2 homes per year.

It's your primary source of income when you are full-time. You can't say how many hours that requires, but you can say "if I don't sell houses I don't have enough income to live on" would be full-time.

It's not based on the number of transactions but on the amount of time spent in the industry. Normally FT is 40+ hours per week in the workforce in general. But "full time" is somewhat of a misnomer these days.
