My preference is the lighting that provides the best light for me needs. I have many different types of light bulbs in my home.  The one in my office is very bright. I do not believe it is any of those you have listed.

I like the LED bulbs because they are such money savers but I will always appreciate the warmth of the good old incandescent.

If one has limited budget try incandescent. These fluorescent lights do not last that long but the price is OK.

LED is supposed to last 100,000 hours. It consumes 10% of electricity. But it is very costly.   Well, they said the same of all other lights that they have long long life.  Puff gone quickly.

LED and nothing else for me!

The only fixtures that have any other kind of bulbs (Halogen) in them are my outdoor flood lights and they just haven't had to be changed out since we moved in - I'll probably change them to LEDs too!

I make note of what exists in their new home and present them with a box of appropriate LED lamps. And if the under-cabinet lighting is insufficient or non-existent, I include an LED strip for their pleasure.

I still prefer my incandescents (probably not overly pc of me). Hate fluorescent lights. I do use halogen and led in the appropriate fixtures.

It depends on the specific application that the lighting will be used in.  The homeowner may also have particular preferences, medical issues or there may be other matters to take into account.

CFLs have been linked to cancer.  I have no experience with Tungsten.  Halogen I've never liked for indoors, had them in some lamps and god forbid you touch the bulb, your oils will mess it up.

My favorite is still the incandescent, but I've gone to all LEDs in my house.  I've measured the temperature of LED and incandescent bulbs in my ceiling can lights, in the same room.  The LEDs were 1/4 the temperature of the incandescents.  Made for my rooms being a little cooler this last summer over the one prior.

I wouldn't go for LED over incancdescent in a flip home though, since the cost is so much higher.  You really get the cost savings over time and in a flip no one is going to pay more because of the bulbs you use.

Fred Griffin As I run out of incandescent bulbs, I've been using fluorescent ones. I put one in my outdoor lamp post and it lasted well over a year. Just replaced it a couple of weeks ago.
