Well, you know there are certain types that you know they are not going to be happy with anything. I never ask those types ANY questions because I don't want to hear it. So my answer is possibly.

Couple from SoCal fell in love with a house, short sale took 6 months to close. They could not wait to move in. When they did, although the husband loved it, the wife (who had just retired) hated the difference in lifestyle here and was really unhappy. We put the house back on the market. The wife went back to work, took a position in Hawaii and didn't come back until it was time to sign the papers. Then the husband was really unhappy. LOL

Not exactly @Karen Jones Lewis but I had a client who did regret her purchase because of the financial position it put her in. She was unhappy with that situation but loved the house enough to stay many years.

Yes! A husband/wife and they fought at the closing table. The wife said she didn't want the house and nearly stopped the closing three times. The husband convinced her to buy it but it was back on the market six months later.

"I hate the house!"
Yes, I have heard that.
I listened well. Invested time.
By the time they were ready to sell, the issue identified had nothing to do with the house. It was resistance to conformity. When another outlet for expression was found, the issue disappeared and they now celebrate their good fortune of living a very remarkable location.

Hating is a strong word, but often clients need to compromise, since they have <this> budget for <THIS> wants. Usually, they just focus on making more money and move into a better neighborhood, bigger size, better views, etc. But you need to start somewhere and it is rarely 100% perfect house, but people can make it a perfect home but remodeling, accessorizing, bringing love and laughter in it.
