Good, fast, cheap. You know the story.
However, the right selection depends on what you know/understand that your business needs and where your business will going be in 2020.
Without this, the outcome will be conforming your business to your CRM.
Secondly, the real cost of a CRM is in the trial, configuration, validation, customizing and training involved. Some legacy systems have a learning curve that curve over the horizon.
Finally price ranges from FREE to $100 monthly and for the old guards, a bunch of pile on fees.
For the traditional agent, doing tradition business I suggest WiseAgent.com
IF your see the influence of the sharing economy and understand you need to ability to adapt, I suggest SugarCRM.com.
Too expensive is what happens when the wrong selection is make and #2 must be repeated. (NOTE: I have VALIDATED CRMs and some are too dangerous to use, but agent still pay them $30 a month not realizing what they have done.)

I use outlook, not because it is good, but because it is cheap and easy to deal with in the long term.

Les has it right. RealtyJuggler is inexpensive and has a 90 day free trial. After the free trial, you're paying less than $9/month.
However, what do you really need the CRM for and how will you use it? That needs to be answered.

Most of the good ones are packaged with IDX & site. That's the way that I would go not a stand alone.

You choice will depend on how you plan to use it. I am a "keep it simple" woman.. .for ease of use and not paying for features I won't use. Lots of suggestions here for you to consider and research.

I agree with Barbara Todaro - you're going to get lots of responses here and by the time you're done reading them you could have done a search and researched them on your own

Do it yourself with an Exel spreadsheet. CRMs are designed to save you time so you can focus on the direct revenue generating activities. You need to decide for your self which one is the best fit.

The best CRM is the one that you'll use consistently. I've used Top Producer since 2006. There is a learning curve, but it's very powerful and flexible. Is it perfect? No, but no CRM is.

As with all technology recommendations, it depends on HOW you are going to use your CRM. I do calls and online marketing. My CRM integrates seamlessly into my website and delivers leads directly into my database.
It has a calendar that AUTOMATICALLY sets appointments and reminds my clients when those appointments are. It records calls directly from the CRM. It has automated email sequences that once set up email clients until they respond (you dictate the sequence) It adds all emails sent from gmail into the CRM automatically so virtually every communication I have is recorded and added to a client record.
I get ALL of that for $50.00 per month. You may not use a lot of those features. Let m e know if it sounds interesting. I think I get a referral bonus of some kind.

I did a lot of research myself looking for an affordable, but more importantly a user friendly program that wasn't as complex as Top Producer, which I had been using over the years and not really liking it. There were just so many steps to using their software and I didn't find it very user friendly. Not everyone's minds think alike! I have been using Ixact Contact now for a few years and absolutely love it! You get a free trial period to see if you'd like it before committing. They imported all my contacts for me, their customer service is great, and they offer a lot, especially a monthly newsletter to stay in touch that you can personalize, among other things. Good luck in your decision!
