I depends on the property Fred. I have used them for trials in the past. It may help in the presentation, but difficult to say. Hired photographers that offer the service.

Not all properties are drone worthy.  And our clients pay to have them done professionally.  In the long run, it is cheaper than breaking picture windows, cutting electrical lines...In our area (Santa Barbara) it is great with large estate, ranch land, wineries, etc.  A

I hire my drones, been using them for about 1.6 years, gimmick but cool videos.

I own a drone and getting used to flying it. I love the over ruling and hope i can get some practice to be able to use it for some breathtaking shots

our photographer also has a drone and we use aerials on our new construction and subdivisions prior to completion........ "the eye buys" and aerials are like magnets...

For commercial purposes FAA licenses are still required...

No. Not much of a demand for drone photos around here.

As of yet neither the price tags here are very high for drone service probably because we also have the most restricted airspace around in N. Virginia

I use a drone.  Mostly for personal photography and occasionally for business.

I like them for certain applications. So now I guess you do not need to be licensed?

I saw this cute little drone about the size of a cell phone for $65. I wouldn't feel bad crashing it into a tree for that price. 

Another toy (which I'm not into); another form of photography, which I don't do. If I feel a house is "drone-worthy," I call a professional. If I don't even own a camera, what would I do with a drone? 

I don't feel all properties lend themselves to drone photos. I won't get one..pay a professional

We don't use drones for traditional residential homes.  Personally I think they are useful on large estates, large acreages, farm land, some luxury homes with a lot of land or a nice property, but I think they are a bit unnecessary on a typical single family home.  If we need it we have a photographer that offers it as part of a package. -Kasey

I do not use them...and almost everyone I asked sid why and for what reason.

I don't own a drone and will hire that service when I need it. I have too many tools to master now.

Real Estate has been flying fine on its own with any help from Drones

My professional photosgraphy company offers drone photography, and do use them when the property offers views.

One of my photographers used a drone on a hillside home once but it's not something I usually utilize.   

No drones for us at this time in our photography end of this business.

I believe the FAA ruling only applies to "hobby" drones. If you use it for business, Uncle Sugar still has you under his thumb.

I do not nor would I pay for a service - not very big here.

Wasn't aware the FAA got shot down over drone licensing.  I'll have to check it out.  I was going to get one for my business and fun.  They're handy things to have in rural RE.

But seriously folks, I don't use drones.  Very few houses out here can benefit from aerial photography.  I'd love to own one for fun, but it would probably collect dust more than anything else.  If I need it, I have a friend or two with them.

We encourage drone photography, especially for acreage property. How else to enable buyers to really picture the setting of the listing?

Have two licensed drones. Newest one "Sputnik". You give them a name for FAA. Video is king in show and tell of real estate and the local community flavor. Your buyers are busy, it's 10 to 10:30 that is the busiest time of the real estate day if the video vending machines are locked, loaded for the shock and awe. Saves everyone time and money in the slice and dice of what's out there for areas, for property listings to consider in the eenie meenie miney moe.

No. Much of our market is in a no drone fly zone.

I don't use them.  I think once things are settled on the drone front I will make a decision.  For now, it seems too undecided.
