No, of course not! "OH NO! Today would be a great day to go - we can check out the drainage on the lot and take a peek into the crawl space!"
Most of the time they'll change their minds!

If it was a listing appointment...I would be concerned. Make sure you actually see that house in the rain.
I showed a farm today in the rain and walked the NCR trail to the river cottage.

My mother in law wouldn't go anywhere if it was raining. I thought it was that she was afraid she might fall but that wasn't it. She had a blue rinse on her hair and she didn't want it to run down her face.

No I don't let rain, sleet or gloom of night influence my appointments.

I've had some SOCAL folks try to.
I'm from The Bay Area, if we didn't work in the rain, we'd be off for 6 months.

I would love some rain in here. But it is so rare, that no one ever cancels for this very reason.

Wait what? I agree with Debe Maxwell, CRS . . . during/after a rain's a great time to check out a property!
Traffic, yes. We have several seasonal events that will make navigating the main streets tough. Snow, what is that? 125 degree heat? AM appointments. Not because we can't handle it. Because YOU can't.

Traffic, yes. Rain, no. Heck, even snow, no (I enjoy driving in the craziness!)
Where I am around LA, a 45 minutes drive can easily turn into 2+ hours with an accident or 2 on the freeways, so traffic can definitely cause cancellations.

Hey, we are in Florida. It can be sunny in the morning, rain at lunch time, then it's sunny again, then it's sunny and raining at the same time. Unless a hurricane is in the forecast, we are going to look at houses.

I always greet rainy day buyers with some extra sunshine: "You picked the PERFECT day to look at homes! There's no hiding a drainage problem or leak with this weather!". That seems to lift them a bit and off we go. :)

I have had buyers check to see if we were going to cancel for rain and I always say the same thing, "A rainy day is a PERFECT day to look at homes because then we'll know if there are any water problems."
I haven't had a buyer cancel yet.

Just an excuse, I'd say. That indicates a lack of motivation. Might want to reevaluate the amount of time you spend with that client.

depends on what the appointment is. I have had sellers cancel a listing appointment because they didn't want me trying to see their property in the rain or tracking dirty feet inside if it's rained for days. But generally not buyers. In the rain is a great time to see properties.
4,550,185
Because it is raining, wonder how serious they are about doing something.

Depends on the level of rain. If swiftwater crews are being plaed on standby, generally I'll cancel.

No. Never. Rain was so rare here for so many years ... it just was not an issue. However, end of last year and beginning of this year we had so much rain we had flooding. It did not stop me or my clients.

No. Once I traveled 45 minuets in a heavy rain to a listing appointment. Was wet by time I got in the house. We laughed, talked and I left with a signed listing agreement.

Do I cancel because of rain or traffic No... do things become delayed because of it sometimes.. but I hate that
5,553,053
In Denver right now, when it rains, it could hail, and could be really bad. Traffic could be an issue too, we had a tanker blow in the middle of the busiest part of south Denver. Plain rain, no.

If it is expected to freeze upon hitting the ground, we cancel. If it includes a tornado warning, we'll cancel. Also, if there is enough rain to cause the spawning salmon to be swimming across the road, we'll probably delay and take some photos first! Otherwise, let's show some homes!

Interesting, since you were coming to her Karen Jones Lewis, MBA, Realtor. Maybe she didn't want wet feet in her house, though it's not like you couldn't have removed your shoes, or, maybe she was concerned about you driving in the rain (especially if it was pouring out). Here in age-restricted communities, those could be viable reasons why there was a cancellation. Hopefully, this was just a 'postponement' and not a true 'cancellation (meaning she is going with another realtor). I do not cancel because of weather, even with temps in the triple digits.
