Never seen that problem.
Most HOA's that I encounter are ruled by would-be tyrants and petty bureaucrats.

Interesting. I have not encountered this. Could it be something else?

I've not come across this issue locally. I've never lived in a community where the HOA board was all male... in fact, in several cases the chairmen of the board were women. We deal with women in managerial positions at the hoa management companies all the time.

Sad commentary! The person qualified to do the job should be allowed to do it and judged on the merits!

The answer is in the details, which we are not privy to. It is a possibility but perhaps it is THE woman and not because she is a woman.

Not in our area. We have strong young women and it is best not to cross them.

My first job out of college was in HOA management - with an HOA property management company owned by a woman. And all of us property managers, except one, were women. I have not seen this "old boy's club" mentality personally.

Maybe it is her style.
However, I do admit...I prefer to work with male agents any day. Can't deal with the emotional drama.
I even prefer male clients...they are usually decisive and don't sweat the small stuff.

Having served on several boards of HOA's it is not about who (male or female or age) it is about competency and communication and attitude. I suspect those associations were not happy before the change was made.
In looking back over all the PM's we have had over the years, I can think of only 2 that were a pleasure to work with but they couldn't stand the heat, time demands and moved on. I don't blame them as it is a very demanding and often thankless job.

No...our board is full of old hens as much as old dogs...it's old in general. The age (and more so than age), the "set in their wyas" mentality not the gender seperates the common sense from the old guard.

I haven't encountered this at all and I do hope that's really not the reason the two high-end communities parted way with your services. That's really disappointing if that's the case!

That could be the reason. It could be they were planning to leave and the change in personnel was the final breaking point. HOA boards can be fickle creatures.

I don't think so. In Central PA there are 2 large management companies that are hired by all HOA's in this area. Both companies have mostly all women who manage the HOA's.
Anytime a management company here looses a community it usually has to do with residents deciding to run the HOA themselves to save the management fee.

Dennis Swartz I have not heard or seen this. I've had a couple of my sellers threatened by their HOA's.
