It's no big deal to block them & delete their comments. I've always found that the ones that 'object the loudest' have the most problems.

If your facebook presence is more harm than good, why bother?

Dennis Swartz , find a way to respond to the negative reviews with a short, professional response. If the tenant complains you "stole" their deposit, list the cleaning/repairs you had to do after their departure. If they complain you don't respond to maintenance, use it as an opportunity to explain your process and show that you did try to handle it.
If I see a company with all 5-star reviews, I'm skeptical. If I see some negative reviews but with professional responses, I'm more likely to trust that company.

The more we avail ourselves to open public forums the more opportunity for crap like that to be posted. I stick with my WordPress site and control comments left. As others have mentioned, you can always delete FB comments but is its value greater than the risk?

Use their comments as evidence of how efficient and thorough you are! Can't please everyone, that is not your job!

I don't know how to solve this, but I'd work on preventing disgruntled tenants in the future.

Respond, acknowledge and expose them for what they say. If it's your fault or theirs. I'm guessing it's the latter. Don't get angry or start a fight, but don't delete what they say.
Post positive advice always. Same thing with Yelp.
'I would never do PM but applauded you for doing that.

If they coulnd't complain on facebook, they would just find other places to complain like google, yelp, etc. maybt try deleting their comments then blocking them.

I would start with raising the bar for the tenants you accept into the properties and tell them before submitting their applications that they must have no priors in order to be considered. You can also comment on their comment in a nice way that lets people know they were deadbeats.

Dennis Swartz - if you are 'slammed', not a good idea to expose yourself.
3,988,007
If you can put a good twist on their bad comments, keep them. If not delete them and block them.

Don't have a Facebook page or don't do property management. Or, only approve certified sane tenants.
Seriously, you can set your FB business page to require admin approval of all comments.

You are a brave man Dennis Swartz - I simply don't have the mindset to take on property mgmt. If these folks keep it up I'm not sure it's wise to keep the page. Or maybe there is a setting that you have the ability to monitor comments before they are published?
5,583,278
get rid of those comments by those deadbeats and felons.... keep the good ones....
3,383,334
I'm not sure that landlords or agents that would recommend you would even weigh the comments of the disgruntled, dead beat tenants.
6,393,494
I have never had that problem, if I did I would just delete their comments.

There is a feature where you can moderate any comments left, if memory serves. I'd activate that.

Maybe have a facebook business presence that doesn't allow any feedback?
Is it only people who got rejected (who are just applicants, not tenants), or is it tenants as well? If it's tenants, why are they disgruntled? How many tenants do you have? Maybe you can ask happy tenants to put in some feedback also?
