I don't think the success ratio between men and women is much different. There is a higher percentage of women in the business but that doesn't make them better.

Women try harder...but that does not mean they are smarter or more successful than a man...I find too much drama with women.

I don't think in those terms. I've spent my entire adult life since 1970 fighting stereotypes about women in business. Both men and women are successful in this business, often in different ways. Perhaps there are a lot of women in this business because it's one that has no glass ceiling for women and with such a large number of them, it might feel as if they are more successful.

My earliest mentors in my career where all woman. The guys were just too competitive and wouldn't share. The woman freely gave me tips and advice and always encouraged me to succeed. I think most men are scared of successful women. I can't tell you how many divorces happen after a women becomes a very successful Realtor. Husbands think if she does a couple of deals he can buy a new bass boat! But she's thinking buying some rental properties!

I don't think that is true in our area - we have both genders well represented at the top in the Charlotte Metro region.

Real estate is a field without gender inequality and and seemingly well balanced in my opinion. Now as fas as Brokers go they've outpaced their male counterparts 5 to1 during my tenure.

You obviously married up, Lee -- not sure what that says about your wife though.   Hmm.   Yet more to ponder.  

I've worked with successful and unsuccessful agents of both genders.  Congrats to your wife.

I personally don't think either sex has an advantage in this arena. Individuals have different strenghts and leverage that to their advantage.

First of all, Major "Kudos" to your wife Lee Keadle - what wonderful recognition and what a great sale!  For me your question is too general though, because I think it's all in the attitude and personality, with knowledge coming second, that makes anyone successful.  I would certainly not just say 'women', but any and everyone.  And then of course, there is defining 'successful' - sometimes it's how happy we are in life that makes us successful . . .  

Women are more sensitive to feelings and quick to pick up when a softer or firmer touch is needed. We know how to mother.

I personally think so for the reasons that Candice said. They also listen, sorry but men don't listen, they tell you.

Loll..That's interesting..I think that men make great agents too...But you all don't get recognized like we do...And if study shows we make great realtors, it probably has something to do with the emotional aspect..You got me thinking too...
