that would depend on the complexity of the applicants financial history.... simple equals quick and easy.... complex, you'll be there awhile...

It depends on who one is submitting the application to and how prepared they are with the necessary documents.  

For whom? Are you talking about a buyer completing an application, a lender putting it through for approval? Regardless, it varies.

Before going in to apply, ask what documents to take to the appointment. That makes it most expedient.

I've never helped a client with one Morgan Rivas (it's not a Realtors job to do so) but the ones I've done for myself seem to take an eternity and a bottle of asprin.

This relates to the financial information and credit background which varies from applicant to applicant.

The application itself should be easy; it's providing all the supporting documents that may take time.

Truly a question where "it depends" is the answer.  

In the simplest form:

It depends on the borrower/buyer and the situation.

It depends on the mortgage broker/banker.

Morgan Rivas - if you have to share a lot, it may take longer.

Here no applicants fills them. They just sign and fill pertinent data give all docs to loan officer to fill out properly.  You fill you mess it up. You get to proof the appls. Two minutes?

Initial app can be as short as 5 or 10 minutes. Name, SSN, salary/income, current address, previous address, a few other questions. The loan officer runs your credit and some other hocus pocus stuff, and viola! - You're pre-qualified or denied. Pre-qual letters are often proven wrong upon further scrutiny of a full blown mortgage app.

There's no one definitive answer to that question, Morgan Rivas ... it truly depends on the individual applicant(s) doing it.  And perhaps even the method in which they choose to accomplish it .. meaning in the presence of the LO, by themselves, online etc. (Some are more willing/capable of accomplishing this task than others.  An online application is a godsend for some ... a complete horror for others). 

The more prepared and knowledgable the applicant is prior to starting the actual application process (and capable of providing the info/documentation), the more smoothly and quickly it goes.  Beyond that much depends on the applicant's personal finances, whether they are self-employed ... and so many other things.  There are no 2 applications alike these days ...

Like almost every real estate question, it depends.

If you make the mistake of applying with Chase Bank, they stole THREE HOURS of my life with that app.  With every other lender I've used in the past, I send in my info and I've never had to fill anything out.  Maybe 5 minutes to get on and e-sign something.

A 1003 takes little time to fill out. It is all the documentation after the fact that can bog down the process.

Depends on the applicant. It also depends on the application process of the lending institution. 

Filling it out? 10 minutes if prepared. Days if not prepared. Getting an answer on your application, from hours to 21 days

I'm not into filling up applications but if all documents are ready, it should not be that difficult.

You won't be completing one unless you are applying for a mortgage. It takes time so allow an hour or more.

A loan officer shouldn't be filing out the loan application. A good online application (like mine) typically takes 3-5 minutes to complete. The loan officer will "fine tune" it after receiving all necessary documentation from the client. That's maybe another 5 minutes for a veteran LO...

I don't get involved with this process, this is the lender's job.

The Application? Of few minutes....all the docs needed, should be able to gather within a day, close....30-45 days.
