beyond my paygrade but I'm sure Praful Thakkar knows the answer to this.... he has hosted many.... all over the country!

I know the host does a write up. Most of my attendees do write a recap of the MeetUp but not sure if that is mandetory. I just send the entire a list of all who showed up.

This is the signs of a good host

It would be nice to have a MeetUp link with the clearly stated rules and a list of scheduled MeetUps. I did not know about a recent MeetUp in Maryland.

My understanding has always been that the host writes it up and gets extra points. Others get points for showing up based on an attendance report from the host. Obviously, if they want to do a write-up they also get points for a post.

In the past, all attendees got points for attending who were listed in the post by the sponsoring member and they provide a link for Bob on his blog!

Good for you for hosting an event.  It looks as if fairly laid back and lenient AR Ambassador and MeetUp coordinator Bob Crane has come through with an answer to your question.   

Now let's see what you can find from column A or B for an idea for tomorrow's architectural question.

I hope you got your answer. It seems that the host must post location and time before hand and afterwards as well and turn in a list of the attendees.  The attendees should post as well.

I believe that is "old school" and does not apply these days. I've hosted many. I just write a post as the host and send the names of those who attended to the powers that be at AR to serve up dem points! 

There are no meetup police that I know of.  Heck, if someone shows up ... that is enough for me.  If they want to write a post ... that is bonus material without points.  

Bonus points for buying a round of drinks?

I never heard they had to post about it to get the points, was just showing up.
