When anyone within any organization believes that to be a proper response, it is to be understood customer service is NOT their product.

My truck broke!
Translated that means I'm going to tell you a lie that I believe you can not challenge. 

This is the product of companies who believe they have a monopolistic influence on their marketplace. Believing you have no choice, they hesitant not one moment to poke a finger into your eye.

Show them you do have choices that don't include Comcast.
