There are many but, I would begin with my own WP site and share links to posts on your site here, FB, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, G+, etc.

There are other sites that you can guest post and I know Anita Clark has posted them here before - perhaps she'll get you that link again.

I would suggest to go long tail, and a lot of it, since you have a helper using SEMRush start with the less competitive keywords because high tides rise all ships. 

Backlinking is HUGE if you are going to dominate the big boys. You can imagine the amount of authority backlinks Zillow gets. 

Since you have SEMRush- run a competitor report on your top guy you were mentioning in your market. See what back links he has. 

THen duplicate those. 

And remember the best back links may cost some money but will be worth it. 

For instances, if you own your own brokerage, become a member of the Better Business Bureau. The cost is based on how many employees you have. Most brokers I work with pay around $600 per year to be a member. Then get some clients to post reviews for you there. 

Then get their back link to your website and then place the BBB badge on your site. 

BBB is one of those links that can go both ways - Google actually expects this. So it won't hurt to link to BBB and BBB to link to your site. 

HUGE SEO benefit!!! A huge ranking factor. 

The next one is your local Chamber of commerce, which you don't have to be a broker owner to be a member,  just make sure you pay for the link back to your site in the directory.

I use my own WordPress site along with my websites. In the past, I used RealTown as my primary blog site. It has an excellent editor for blogging. Active Rain has caught up with it. 

I use my own wordpress website, and wordpress Blog.. I also post those to FB, which automatically posts to Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Instagram etc.,

One trick I use is to comment on blogs on authority sites.  NAR for example allows you to put your website link in your response (they have a field for it) and those links get scanned and are index/follow type links.  That's a LOT easier than getting articles published there and just as good from a link perspective.  Found that by accident on a realtor safety post last year.

My primary blog was on the Squarespace platform.  I also had several niche blogs on Blogger.  All of these were linked to my primary website and vice versa.  It worked extremely well but that's been a few years and, perhaps, times have changed.  

This is the only site i blog on now, it is working great and no need to change it. I do post links to my blog in various places

You can use many other websites, but I believe your own should be a priority, others serve to direct traffic to your website.
