Andy, I love the otters and it's soooo beautiful up there! My favorite clients are from Maine and have assured me I would freeze to death, but what gorgeous country!
OH, to answer your question - my listing video template always includes local interests and curiosities . . . there is a LOT more to see around here than one would think - and that draws many many visitors and seasonals . . . we are 'Little Vegas On The Colorado River' . . .

I used to do that and rarely do these days.  From time to time I will mention a Farmers Market in one of my market reports or a listing in that MLS area.

Presque Isle Bay at Presque Isle State Park/Erie, PA or my country road during 'lake effect' snow storm. 

I used to do a weekly blog about local events for the upcoming week.  Was a hassle and didn't draw any views.  Used to have it on my site as well and eventually took it down.

Now I might do one or two a year, if I go to an event.  My newsletter does have upcoming events though.

I share information on the communities that I serve and do add events - in fact, I have a FB page that is just for events in our area! 

I'm with you, Andrew Mooers - we do more than move homes, we sell a lifestyle and share our knowledge of the area with those relocating to our areas!

I do minimal for localism posts.... I focus on marketing in search of homeowners....I market listings....

All of my listings have neighborhood and area information attached to them. And I don't ever "peddle" anything. But I do a bang-up job marketing.

I like posting local events, fairs, outtings and such. The posts have a long reach and readers really like them

I don't try to peddle but lifestyle is important.

I try to give my buyers and immersive experience in the area.

I used to do more of "What to do in Lancaster this Weekend" posts ! Gotta get back to it !

On my listing videos I try to include a 45 second 'Chamber of Commerse' type trailer related to that community.

However for DUNEDIN FL I don't limit myself to 45 seconds.

I've always wanted to get the river otters, manatees and anhingas on Weeki  Wachee, but water and a $2,000 camera make me uncomfortable.

I think lifestyle fits into the buying process, and living in Colorado includes outdoor activities, so try to include those in my posts too.

I've tried sharing local events but it doesn't seem to attract attention so I only do it for the points. :)

I sell not just houses, but homes and a lifestyle of lake living so of course I showcase happenings in my community.

I used to do local posts.  I will get back to it soon.

I do feature local events and what is happening in neighborhoods. I believe people want to see more than houses.

I give our all relevent info

It is important to have a mix of entertainment, local attractions, and other fun stuff mixed in with our promotions.

I write a lot of blogs about out home community.

I used to do a lot more when I first started marketing - I have little time these days to keep up on it though

I do not do it.

I used to ask about their interests and then point them in the right direction!
