for me... easily.. the Christmas Eve candlelight service at the church. Singing Carols, lighting up the candles, lots of hugs and smiling faces, very inspiring, beautiful.

The history tree.
One day the week before Dec 25, a large, every large, box of chocolate is opened and the memories of Christmas past are placed on the tree. Those memories are from those like yourself who may send me a Christmas card.
That day, the sender is brought to remembrance, blessed and takes their place on the History Tree. Each day I pass by, I see a testimony of those people for whom I must be truly grateful.

When we lived near family (like in the same state) we always celebrated Christmas Eve, just the two of us, and Christmas Day with family Nathan Gesner. Now it's different, and there is no specific tradition.

Nathan,
In my family, we always opened gifts on Christmas Eve, and we celebrated Christmas twice. Once with the Gregorian Calendar which is the norm, and once with the Julian Calendar which is what Russian Greek Orthodox celebrate. The same with Easter. So I lucked out big time!
Now, we just celebrate Christmas Eve with good food, friends and good wishes...A

There are many traditions of the season like decorating and putting up a tree, having immediate family at my home on Christmas Eve, visiting with my brothers and sisters for dinner on Christmas Day, going to several parties and get-togethers, attending Christmas Concerts, singing carols and doing lots of baking.

Over the years I've traveled to quite a few foreign countries (many times with my children) and we'd find a Christmas tree ornament that reminded us of that place and bring it home. Now every Christmas when I decorate the tree I reflect on each ornament and it brings back all the memories of those trips, precious times. My kids are now in their 40's!!
