All of the above. My favorite, of course, is real estate but, you need all 3 to round out your portfolio (in my opinion).

The rule of thumb is to take your age and subtract it from 100. That is the % you should be in stocks and the rest in bonds. But for me, I am in mutual funds and index funds. With interest rates on the rise, I don't like bonds, and the stock market has always done well with returns, over time. I am in mutual funds focused on technology and healthcare along with an S & P 500 index fund. Then I would take out 4% per year to live on.

Yeah, all the above are good, and more. We all need a decent financial guy to take the lead on that stuff. I personally would rather hold notes secured by property than own rental property. But that's just me.

Rental property gives you cash flow and appreciation over time.  Luckily we are in the right job to be able to handle these efficiently. :) 

Most realtors put too much of their saving in real estate. When the market tanked they must have to work a few more years longer. Majority live in poverty since they have no pension and did not manage savings properly.

A few women spent their savings on cosmetic surgery and law suits on surgeons.

All of the above. Real estate has great returns but at 70.5 you start taking out of tax deferred investments that have built up.

over the decades, I've bought and sold many properties.... and I continue to have one rental property that I keep for family use only....and I have my home free and clear.... I continue to have significant income from marketing and receiving referral fees.... I'm 71... the name is branded and I like the extra income without having to deal with people or go into a home.
