Only on occasion - my friends know I'm in real estate and I learned early-on with FB that your friends will stop following you if you sell, sell, sell on your personal page!

Seldom. It is a violation of the FB TOS to post biz content on our personal pages. Many still do it and FB seems to look the other way BUT they can always change their mind and enforce the rules which could result in complete loss of personal/biz accounts. Go forward at your own risk.

I have separate business pages for business only, or to post about local events, but on my personal page, I do occasionally post something real estate related, just for the exposure. My personal page, though, is pretty much just personal stuff, local events, photos of my dog, our chickens, you know, that kind of stuff. Every once in a while, though, I'll post a comment about an upcoming open house or new listing, but mostly my personal page is just that - personal.

I think if you are doing it multiple times a day you may lose followers. I post just listed, just sold, reductions, happy holiday messages & interesting articles- sometimes I go weeks between posts, some weeks I post 3 or more times; it depends what I have to say & I avoid generic posting like the plague.

I think the new FB rules are summarized with Brenda Mayette’s response.
Additionally, Fred Griffin offered some great advice.

I know that FB has rules about this stuff. Personally, I don't cross post. My personal page is about the family. My business page is about the business page. IF I mix the two, I first post on my business page and then share.

I don't promote my business AT ALL on my FB personal page. It is for me to let my hair down with friends. They know I'm in real estate, and I may relate funny stories or even gripe a bit -- but no listings or self-promotion.
My business page is likewise 100% business and relevant local events. NO personal stuff.
I know plenty of agents who quite successfully mix business and friends via their social media pages, though--a couple of BFFs are just fabulous in the way they are connected to their sphere personally and in their neighborhoods, and are the darlings of their community.
I behave when I engage them. 3:)
I tell agents like that who want to connect with me on my personal page to HIDE ME . . . this is for their own protection. LOLLL
We may be more in contact under the radar . . . so we can all have fun!

FB will not be happy if you use your personal page for business. They consider that a violation of their terms of service (and something that doesn't make them money).

Never... I link localism type posts that appear on my website blog or in AR on my personal page. But I do not promote my business and listings on my personal page. Those go to my business page. Listings also get posted to groups relating to real estate here in Charlotte. Plus, as far as I know, it's against Facebook rules to post business content on a personal page that looks like you are selling something. It could lead to a shut down of your personal page.

Everything starts on your personal page, then share it to your business page for better SEO, I've learned that from my Podcast interviews with experts. I believe in 25% business and 75% promoting positive pieces, personal growth and celebrating those I'm connected to. That's my formula, no science behind it.

First, you should understand that this is against their TOS, so you could lose acct. 2nd, it's really super annoying to your friends and colleagues. 3rd, it's pretty ineffective if this is the main thing you do...so you less people will see. So, I'd say maybe 10-20% of time...or less...or never. You'll have more success if you post helpufl and relevant blog posts.

I have a business FB page, as well as personal. I don't post listings on the business page very often; only information that I think would be interesting to Sellers and Buyers. They see listings on mls reports, and all the other sites. I want them to come to learn something helpful to their home care, lifestyle, neighborhood, etc...

Sometimes I will share a post about a community or new homes that hit the market. Most of the time the post is to my business page - then shared. My friends know that I'm selling houses and don't want to see it all day on their feed.

I think this depends on how you want to do it, but be careful not to violate Facebook's terms of use.

Just occasionally. Yes, if you have a desirable property coming up. No, just to promote yourself with bs post like " I'm showing a house today, just ratified, home inspection, etc.

Hourly?
Seldom put listings on the personal page, just promote the other aspects and direct them to the business pages.
3,167,614
No more than once a week for me. I have a business page and I try to post there several times a week. I think daily is pushing it. But sometimes if I'm getting a lot of new listings I go with daily.
