Something to be aware of.  Perhaps in the future they will flee the coastal areas to Indiana and this will be a million dollar property in a decade or two.

I have heard rumblings, and I just not have not invested time in doing some real research.  So many articles are biased , so you really have to dig to get a the truth of the matter...like all the scare from the last storm, where all went well in Santa Barbara.  A

I do enjoy watching all the people who insist on denying the obvious, and many of them will be filing insurance claims as their homes flood.

Not a problem here in the midwest ... not hear any coastal areas.  We've had a pretty good winter last year and this.  However, we are currently getting dumped on tonight as I type this.

I don't see Sea Levels rising along the NJ coast line . Instead we have beach erosion !

It will not affect our prices or markets unless it devastates other real estate markets and we get trickle over.

Yeah I've been going to the beach for more than half a century and I haven't notice any less land in all that time.  

Here in coastal Florida, those properties with big water views and sandy beaches just out the back door, will not be affected. These 5 mil properties of the 1% will be purchased without bank funding. Those living across the street, houses w/o water frontage, of much less value, but still benefit from all the high-water calamity will be forced out due to flood insurance costs. 

The good news is, this real estate may become camping grounds for those vacationers from the snowlands. Unfortunately, those who have found their place on the beach, on the mountain top, in the forest, spend the remainder of their day keeping everyone else out!  They now call themselves environmentalists.

I was at one meeting where one such human objected because they may hear the sounds of happy children.  Made me ashamed to be a human.

Insurance, be it house, flood or health is the greatest peril to families today.

at over 900 feet above sea level it does not appear there will be oceanfront property to sell in my market in my lifetime.

No clue and not something I've given thought to... by the time sea level might affect me I'll be retired and/or dead.

If the oceans rise a little, I'll have ocean front property. If they rise a lot, I'm a certified scuba diver and I suppose I'll show homes that way.

Felix Figueroa Weather changes have been affecting the Earth for millions of years. I don't think it is going to affect my market anytime soon.

Hasn't impacted me any.  Would need to rise 50 ft to really be a problem.  By then, I'll likely be long dead and decomposed.

I see no sea...level change influence. Should there be some it will act slowly

Its not just a matter of markets its a matter of the planet and everyones' life style that will be affected its a GLOBAL issue

I see the problem that when one of the worlds volcano's decides to spew ash and gasses in the air, that it is more than a whole years co2 that man produces. Therefore I hope all of Hollywood, outspoken sports stars, singers and protesters, can cork off these volcano's by anyway necessary, including jumping in to stop the flow of green house gasses. 

The second part to this thought is that other countries such as India, China and others have no regulations or will to reduce or prevent green house gas. SO if they do not want to stop volcano's, they can move to these countries to make them better and save the world. 

Living in Chicago, not worried about it. Lived in Florida and felt lik Fred Griffin about the issue!

There's nothing wrong with looking at the big picture, only thing is in real estate everything is localized. I don't get too caught up in that "what ifs" & I'm 40 miles from the ocean so it isn't a factor we'd consider in my market. 

Sadly my market area will disappear under water. Hopefully I will not be around to see that happen! (Effects are already happening).

I'm in Los Angeles hood, I did not hear any issues, maybe just in Catalina Island. I'd need to research it.

I am old enough not to be immediately concerned but down the road younger people should be.

Since I am 289 miles from the Gulf Of Mexico I say it has no affect on my market.

Since the town in which I live is about 20’ above sea level, centuries of sea level will not only swamp my home but much of our market. Of course, I will no longer be in business.
