I go outside anyway. We shovel our path(s) and driveway and in the really big storms, that has to happen several times or there's just too much snow to move.

During the last big storm we walked down the street to see what was going on.

While I'm in the house, as long as the power stays on, I can still do lots of work-related stuff. 

Stay home and enjoy the time off.

No. That is something I haven't experienced.  Yet. Good luck.  Be safe.

The only time I lived where there were storms like this was in NYC and you could always walk, take a subway. And amazingly enough, Chinese restaurants delivered on days like this as well! And actually, one year in NYC when we had 13 big snow storms, I showed property through 12 of them... the only reason I missed the 13th was because my client cancelled as her baby stroller couldn't handle the snow!

OMG I love when I don't have to leave my house! Just make sure everything you need in terms of creature-comforts is on hand, and take some time to be still.

Tons of options:  Reading, writing, web work, cooking, cleaning, movies, etc. etc. etc.   If the power is out, the options are far more limited. 

  Catch up on office work.  Tweak the website and social media sites.  Make phone calls.   Read a good book.

I get out of the house just fine. For starters the real estate office is a 32' commute. The jeep works just fine heading to the downhill ski slopes that run on snow. Lots of white stuff. The fisher angled snow plow on the four wheel drive pickup parked in yard is always fueled and ready to slice thru anything Mother Nature delivers for Northern Maine weather. The highway department knows how to handle snow and no one is house bound. We don't stock up with water and batteries because in small towns you can walk to the corner store...no traffic to get in the way. We heat with wood, we are not amateurs with winter storms. Four home showings and two appraisal tours on board and snow does not cancel the show up for work.

Fortunately, I never had that experience.

I write new content for my website.  Which is what I will be doing today. We actually have rain in the forecast for the next 4 days.  While rain does not stop me from leaving the house, I love doing office work when it is raining. It is so peaceful and claiming for me. 

Buy a 4 wheel drive. I can not sit still and will be out and about in this blizzard. My wish of someone sending their lear jet to take me to South Florida hasnt panned out. We have had more snow in March than the whole winter it seems. I still have trees down from last storm

Send hundreds of Thank YOU cards and gifts .... and hit the phones....be safe our power just went out.....

We are having one here today.  I still have my lunch plans with my lawyer and a networking meeting tonight.  Will probably pick up some food to cook for tomorrow if it rains really badly.

I feel for those in the paths of those storms. In fact, I've had several buyers get in touch with me becaue they've had ENOUGH. I'm here in Carmel and we think OUR rain storms that have been coming through are bad, especially in areas that have had fires and now are facing mud slides. My answer? Make a huge pot of comfort food like stew, get some books from the library (just in case your electricity goes out), a big bottle of wine and hunker down. Enjoy the enforced rest.

I work from home so for me it's a No Brainer ... I would be working, preparing, making phone calls and maybe catching up on a few series on TV!

I'm stuck in it too, I just work from home :)

Yep, yet another winter-wonderland in Connecticut as well. Plan to do admin stuff, lots of paperwork; after exercising, that is.

Pleanty of prospecting calls, marketing and training can be done from home.

Big business development time. Newsletter, emails, phone calls, direct mail, social media.... etc...

When I get bored and can't go out, I tend to clean and organize.

These are great catch up days for me, and I love to blog.  The only real big concern is the power...for me and for my customers.  Hopefully this one won't be as bad as the last 2 which had major power outages for many days.  There may even be a very small percentage still waiting to get it back.

We've had some bad back to back storms before. We just have to adjust and deal with them them best we can.

I agree with Anthony. Enjoy the time off.

If you MUST work, go through all your websites and profiles and links (like on signatures) and make sure they all are up to do.

Redo your bio or update resume on LinkedIn.

Write letters/cards to all your past clients with a funny clean joke to make their day, or a motivational saying.

Update your business plan for the next quarter.

Timeblock year with vacations.

Clean out your file cabinet. Or inbox. Or files on your computer.

Do something silly or fun. Pictures of the snow. Post online.

Help out elderly neighbors with anything they need.

Be thankful for the downtime.

Call a family member you usually don't have time for when things are busy.

Read a business-related book. (Lots online if you can't get out.)

With power, carry one. Without power go up the wall and keep loading the wood stove up to keep warm.

I am so sorry Praful! I am super excited to see our snow almost all melted. 

I guess you read, watch a marathon of movies and play games with the kids. 

be thankful you have power..... I lost mine at 8:00am.... thankful I'm surrounded by family.....my grandson came after me and I'm parked in front of their woodstove, working online....and listening to Blue Bloods in the background....

It's hard to argue with Mother Nature - She'll win every time.  Open the laptop, sit by the fireplace, sip something warm and know that 'this too shall pass' ...

A chance to be still, reflect, chart another courser etc. all leads to new growth

That is a rare day in Oklahoma. 

We have had many windy circumstances here recently but no big winter storms.. we are scheduled for snow however on the first day of spring here in N. Virginia 

I go crazy Harvey had would have had us stil crazy but we were too worried!
