I was going to say, "Create a new group", but I see that you are already planning that.

  When you get it set up, be sure to come by this question board and ask, "Have you joined my new group?"

Many of the groups are abandoned. I stopped joining and tagging them about a year ago.

You are in the right place ... check the groups - there are many.  Groups are free to join and free to create.

I find the effectiveness of AR groups to be in direct relation to those who moderate the group. 

PropertyMinder (AccelerAgent) - if there is none, you can create such a group and promote and moderate it.

I have never checked. A lot of the less well known groups are not active and not sure you'd get anything out of them in any event.

Just a thought...when you post a blog, what do you check for the topic? There is an option to choose home selling for the topic, under consumer, and that might give you some exposure.

The question is, how posting in some groups would benefit your post?

Most of the groups are abandoned.  I know some are still kept alive by a few of the members here.  For seller tips, I'm not aware of any specific ones.  For listings I typically to the AR Property Spotlight, Post Your Listings Here, CA Dreaming, Localism and one other that escapes me at the moment.  I can't say I've ever seen a bump in readership from them though.

I tag these sites. Frankly, there are not that many actively engaged in any of them. I believe the active bloggers post their listing and move on to other  things. With over 100,000 agents here we do not have meetups for awhile. Too busy.....

Many of them are not active. You might want to start your own! And of course writing regularly so more people will get to know you will help, as well commenting on others' posts and following them.

I do not know. You might get better advice by following blogs.

Have to agree with others, groups used to be more important, and now it is like a ghost town.
