I just posted about this in the Q&A earlier this morning.  As I understand it, agents pay a hefty referral fee and the home buyer or home seller get the miles.  Not something I would do for a referral or the miles. 

Nothing or close to nothing surprises me. It is not of interest to me personally.  Thank you for sharing this information.

      Looks interesting.   When I refer someone, it's usually a friend or close acquaintance (or someone they asked me to help with).  So I prefer to choose my own Broker or Agent, rather than use a referral service.

I'm sure some would go for this, good for them. I'm more curious of the mechanics behind the door.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this program works out....

And the cost to the agent to receive the referral?

Interesting, as it is a new program would be interesting to see why 98% would use it again. People do love to get free things, and miles are useful if your airline is American.

There seems to be a lot of buzz on AR about this program today A of Ron and Alexandra Seigel . I'm not sure I understand it. What do we agents give up to be part of the program?

I'd be worried about whom I get referred to. For buyers/sellers who are picking agents cold, I suppose this could work. For those who feel they need personal referrals, not so much.

Somehow I'm a little skeptical but I'd be interested to hear from a few agents who have gone through this.

Not really something that I could wrap my head around - it's more about the client to me - and placing them with the perfect referral partner for them. I feel like it's a conflict of interest if we're only using a program to get something in return beyond the normal referral fee (i.e. air miles). Just MHO!

I do not fly much, so I'll pass. 

I smell a rat... AA probably wants a large piece of your commission just like the relocation companies...

Ron and Alexandra Seigel Sounds like another referral program where everyone benefits except for the real estate agent. When I worked for one of these companies all referals went to the main office and were doled out to the local offices. The company charged the agent a 35% referral and the remainder of the fee was based on the agents split. NEXT!

Sometimes promotion is mostly clever but not substantive.

I can assume the referral is coming from Cartus.. which my company has an affiliation with (Better Homes and Gardens).  I had 4 referrals from them and they were all dead ends.. The paperwork and reporting required is over the top and I would be spending all my time filling out paperwork on a daily basis.. PLUS they want a very high portion of your commission for the referral.

It's not something that interests me personally. It feels gimmicky! So 98% of the AA members that have used the program recommend it? And you get a Personal Real Estate Coordinator? I'm not at one of these brokerages so I guess I lose. And that's OK.

I got an email on this program. I am not interested in buying leads and this is what this is, paying for the business.
