Oh God Yes. 2 BIG reasons (among others):

• Referrals! You have to be present and top of mind, and demonstrate competence to get them, but when you do, that is exactly the value of social media.
• Also, consumers see the same thing, and if they already knew you were good at your job, you are in their life.

A client of mine is about to become a repeat client. I got a FB notifier that he tagged me on ANOTHER local agent's listing she posted in a local RE group I AM NOT IN and said, 'Can we go see?' LOL 

I messaged him: of course, when? 
"Next weekend we will be here for the River Run and I expect you at my house for cocktails too!"  Okay twist my arm.
(I sold him his house 11 years ago. It's badass. ;) A pretty long time to remember. That's why social media is powerful.)

Oh, goodness yes! If you want to count ActiveRain as 'social media marketing,' the referrals alone have been fabulous...as have the calls from the consumer from posts here, not to mention the lifelong friendships!

It's difficult to make an exact monetary correlation - but I think it's needful to keep a social media presence so when a buyer or seller is ready to proceed, they won't have to dig too hard to find your info.

I have.  I was able to send a referral to Thomas J. Nelson, Realtor, ePRO, CRS, RCS-D last year and I would not have had that contact without Active Rain (which I consider a social network).

As far as twitter, facebook, instagram, etc.: No.

I would have to say YES!  Not only do I have good communication with clients and other agents ... but when I am meeting with a buyer or seller for the first time and the subject gets brought up they are always looking for an agent who is working all the angles!

You are looking at this the wrong way. You can't pick a single marketing initiative, such as social media and draw a direct line, from it to a listing.

There are no magic bullets in life. With your Real Estate marketing, you spread your brand, build awareness and establish yourself as the expert in your marketplace through a series of marketing initiatives, not just a single one. 

Social media is one piece of a larger puzzle. It is one piece of what is building your brand awareness.

Social media exposure has complimented my marketing efforts by keeping my name in front of prospects and clients.

Facebook has become mandatory for residential real estate professionals. Many have thousands of followers on Pinterest, LinkedIn and Twitter as well.

In selling Pearls for the Soul books its okay but for Real Estate not so much

Many times, it is a top source of business for me.

I have sold at least 5 homes off my blog or my contacts in Active Rain referring me. I have sold at least 12 homes off Yelp.com. I have sold one home off LinkedIn. I've no way to quantify: FB,Twitter, InstaG, etc. I have sold dozens of homes from the Buffini & Company Referral network!
