No, they don't look surprised to see me, although they do tease me about being a ghost who floats in and out on rare occasions. Agents who've been in the company as long as I have know me... the newer ones not so much. But that's the nature of the beast... we have very few agents who work from the brokerage office so we are all in the same boat.

My receptionist (2) love me! Yes, when I make an appearance people make fun of me. I'm there to break everything that I can & then leave in a 'whoosh'.

This is why I love it thast my wife and I are our own brokerage out of our home and do not have to drive to an office. To us it is a loss of productivity.

OF course not. Brokers and receptionist should know agents will check up on the space they pay the rent on.
Do we know each other? You bet! Sometimes a newbie shows up but it not necessary to seek them out until they are on their 2nd year.
But, the reality is, you can't meet and greet people stuck in an office unless of course it has high pedestrian traffic.

I do work out of my home office, and only go into my broker's office once every two or three weeks. And yes, everyone knows me, and I know them - we stay in touch via other means.

My receptionist and broker would be much more surprised if I were not at the office. I am at my office ALMOST every single day by 8:30 am (with the exception of some weekends.
I never work from home. How can you meet people, show homes and get in a business mindset while trying to work from home?!!?!!? I cannot imagine any Realtor making a six figure income working primarily out of their home. None that I know of.

I work out of the "office" office about 75% of the time. I am well known there. I know we have numerous agents whom I would not recognize if they ever put in an appearance.

I don't recall the re/max days enough to know if there was any ribbing going around. Back then it was fairly uncommon to work from home. Now days, we are our own company and there is no one to make those kinds of jokes as we don't keep a physical office... although many a title rep and lender has tried to come to do a sales pitch at our PO Box. LOL! Even had one agent who camped out at our PO Box hoping to catch us because he really wanted a house we were renovating.

I only work out of my company office unless it’s after business hours and I need to work at home. Today it’s rare to see me sitting in an office however as I’m out prospecting, attending inspections, or listing or selling homes.
I’m always amused when someone...receptionist, manager or even title people say...I never see you at the office, but you’re sure doing a lot of business. DUH!
So yes...they might not be shocked but they take notice. I only go to the office when I have nothing else to do...rarely does that happen.

We have over 900 agents at BBR. I know my 3 owner/brokers and maybe 5 agents. I work out of my own professional office in La Jolla/UTC and visit our Mission Valley office maybe 3 times per year. The staff know me but I rarely even see an agent as only about 30 have offices in-house.
