I have periodically received "unusual" messages from AR and was wondering the same thing ... just recently have been getting a communication from someone who is "new" to the Rain ... but now I'm not sure I should have "followed" ... any help?

No, there have from time to time been some legitimate profiles that were vile humans.  But in the end most of them have either left on their own or gotten shown the door.

One thing I have done is unfollowed them.  You can report the nasty comments, however, I find that leaving them there exposes the individual to others.  And if you ignore them, they go away...their whole MO is to disrupt, so if that does not work their purpose is not fullfilled, and they go away.  A

Tim, It's come up periodically.  The official staff response was essentially:  "This is a social community and allowing blocking is counter to the intended purpose and spirit of the community.  If someone is actually violating AR community standards, report and we'll address."

Now all that said, the truly objectionable folks have been pretty rare here, and the Staff has generally been pretty tolerant and tried to coach them back to the mainstream.  Basically, you have to work at it to get tossed out of this community.  Bill

That would be a fantastic feature, and not just for spammers.  One way to learn to play nice would be waking up and realizing no one is allowing you comment on their posts.

If you look at your followers, you can force them off of your follower list from there.  No way to do a proper ban.  The only way to shut down the habitual bullies is to report them to Bob Stewart and/or support.  Although some of the Ambassadors and/or "OG" members have been known to have words with some of them.

In the past they were zapped pretty quickly. Amassadors kept on eye out for the scammers and let staff or Bob about them.  As for the rude folks.....I haven't run across any at all lately.  I would give Bob S  a call to discuss this directly.
