Yes but, I don't believe many do. It absolutely should be mandated though.

Although it's not, all of my clients are instructed to tour as though they are being watched and listened to.

I believe that information should be disclosed.

When you are in someone else's house, it is wise to act and speak as if the owner is watching.

No as it has nothing to do with entry or the safety of the visitors and licensee. We should all assume we are being watched or recorded in every home we visit.

That's an interesting discussion and question....I'm really not sure. When you show a property, you are into someone's private property as a guest.... should the guests know about the security system in advance... likely not...

When you go to a retail store, do they tell you about their security cameras?

Yes, disclose in the agent remarks of the listing and the agent informs their clients. I'm not sure the Showing Service needs to be involved; we don't use them here anyway. But agent needs to prepare their clients.

We are already required to disclose this fact in our listings. Typically, I see it disclosed in a sign in the home when you enter. Frankly, I don't listen much to instructions as they are pretty much all the same about locking doors, turning off lights, leave a business card, etc. All things we should be careful about on any property we show. I only listen to pet instructions and security alarm instructions.

I think it should be disclosed, however, in today's world, one needs to realize they are likely to be recorded  by video or audio (legally or not) where ever they are... it's the world we live in today.

No.

The sign at the front door stating "Smile, and speak clearly, your visit is being recorded for training and quality control purposes. Accept/Decline." should suffice.

It is misguided to assume privacy when visiting the public areas of someone house.  A property owner should not forfeit their rights when selling a house. Professionals should control/manage/guide/educate their clients.

Debbie Reynolds  Great question in my humble opinion absolutely YES . I believe it is an invasion of privacy .  I do not see the need to do this but that is my personal opinion . During an Open House when strangers are walking through your house that is different . When agents are showing your house I find it rude .

I guess you could do that but I think enough is enough. There is sometimes a laundry list of 'things to do' when you show a house. The other day for a vacant house there was 5 things.
