Everyone here.

Do lots of reading (e.g., featured posts) and follow those you like and want to learn from. And of course you will want to write posts, too, and can select pople who comment to follow. I would follow bloggers from around the country.

  Start with this Question Board.  Look for "the regulars".  Follow them.

  Next, surf the Featured Posts on the home page of AR.  Look for great bloggers there.

  Finally, look at the left column of your own home page.  Who is following you?  Click on their profile, see who they are, then consider following back.

You're off to a great start, Ande! Participating in Q&A and following those on the feature board that you enjoy reading is another way. When people comment on your posts, follow them. As time goes on, your followers will grow - don't expect immediate results - just keep the momentum going and you'll be fine!

I'm not new but I feel like a newbie.  I was gone for a while and  This "following thing" is new to me and I don't have many followers nor am I following many yet...I've been reading the Q & A and putting in my 2 cents...and trying to find my way around all these new changes.  Good luck to you and happy blogging. 

It takes time to develop a real following, Following others is easy, just read the posts and follow as you see fit.

Coming into Q&A each day is a great place to get acquainted with some of the most active members. We get a little goofy sometimes but, mostly, we're a pretty bright bunch of experienced professionals. 

Check the feature blogs and find people you like their style and follow. As you read other posts and connect, follow those people too. There is no limit to the number of people you can follow.

Follow who you like, learn from or are entertained by.

Lots of great advice here.  Most of the people I follow, I met through the Q&A section.  Others I've stumbled across their posts and enjoyed them.

One word of warning, while it might seem polite to follow back someone who follows you, you could end up with what I had, 700 people I followed.  I spent SEVERAL hours a few months back clearing up that mess and getting it down to those I really wanted to follow.

I picked from people who made thoughtful answers or comments.

As you find your way through Active Rain, you'll read, you'll comment, and you'll have people comment on your blog.

As you run across those blogs, and commentors... you'll recognize those whose posts you enjoy reading, and those commentors who's comments you enjoy... and you'll figure it out.

Read a lot of posts and see who/what resonates with you in terms of their topics, their writing style, whether you learn something, etc.

I found the people I follow just by checking in, reading the featured posts, and learning who the 'regulars' were.  If I see a great post, I follow the person for a while to see if they keep the good stuff coming.

Well, you have to follow those you like, or choose those who post the most relevant and useful contest for you.

You may search for Evanston realtors to introduce yourself. There are two frequent bloggers here all millionaire pointers. 

Read posts. Read Questions. Read Answers.  For me, it is like a knee-jerk reaction ... when I read something I like that resonates with me, or even feel a WOW response of - this person has guts to hold nothing back. Just have fun!!!

Follow the members who comment on my blog posts. They are some of the best!

I disagree with those that said read the Q&A and the featured posts to find people to follow. I would read the blog roll - there are lots of thoughtful and insightful blog posts by people who aren't active on Q&A and who don't get featured for whatever mysterious reason.

Actually, it's not that easy.  It requires you to spend some time looking at their posts and picking the ones you want to follow.  Alternately, you can also follow those that comment on your posts regularly.

That is the answer. Ask great questions and follow those who have something of value to add.

Plowing through a sea of debris to find something worthwhile may not be the best use of your time.

For me I started with those that were most active. I soon learned that when commenting they would comment back. read my blog and there was quite a few with the most help full comment to get me blogging, improve my blogs and teach me more about what this family was all about. I know have my favorites i start every morning with reading and commenting on. Another tip is typically those most active here in Q and A are the ones whose blogs i want to read every day

Look at your State and City to see if you want to follow  someone locally 

Another option in addition to all the other good suggestions you have is to explore the most followed blogger list.  Take the list with a grain of salt, take a look at the last posted date with each person and you'll find many have moved on to other blogging pastures, so not much point in following them.  Find those that produce useful information, entertain you, etc.

I would start by following each one who makes a comment on your blogs.  You'll find out soon enough on those you want to follow once you read what they write about.

When I started on here I began following those who left comments on my posts, I also tried to follow different people around the country. I looked at the featured posts and followed those writers as well. Some no longer write on AR, others have unfortunately passed away, but I found many friends around the country over the years.

See who asks and also answers questions here, read some of their blogs if they write frequently and don't just post Listings or Just Sold but also post other content either with them or in addition to that type of post probably a good place to start. Ande Breunig 

Question and answer forum. If I like someones question or answer, I follow them, and their blogs( if they write any!)

Read their Blog and follow someone that is interesting.

I watch the blog roll every once in a while, and follow those (including you) that have interesting posts.

Start reading blogs and commenting on them.  Subscribe to some also

my method was to not only read posts, but the comment thread and when someone posted a witty or thoughtful reply I liked I'd think... what else have they said and go "follow" them.  reading their posts and comment threads have lead to dozens of true friendships and hundreds of people I read.
