These changes have been coming for awhile now but they are more of an annoyance (for those who target specific demographics) than a show-stopper. FB remains the best (my opinion) source for cheap/effective ads.

I will follow Anita Clark's lead - she's the resident FB expert! 

I don't try to figure out the algorithm of outsiders but better define how I connect with those I meet.

I've learned to achieve really great results organically on FB without careing about their ad paramenters so them going away won't change a thing for me.

I will investigate this as I've not heard anything about it. Are they shooting themselves in the foot? You bet if this is true.

OR .... your ads will not work as effectively but hey, why would they care as it's YOUR money down the drain.

      Facebook is going the way of MySpace and AOL.  Start looking for the next best thing.

I recently tried to boost a post on Facebook and it was rejected. Very frustrating because they don't tell you WHY?

I have a third party company that uses FB to bring in quality leads for me (I'm in a different industry). This doesn't make sense businesswise...not understanding this. Geographic and age targeting is where my bread and butter prospects are located in the world of big data.

Facebook is the most affordable means to reach the masses so it will remain my number one choice.

We've had success with FB ads. They're the least expensive way to reach a targeted group of people, in my experience.

I don't do this kind of advertising, so no impact on me.

We are not a fan of FB.  They are in deep doo doo!  I have a feeling more is on the way.  Of course, I may be wrong!

Target non-descriminating lifestyle interests instead of income, likely-to move, etc. Examples would be swimming if there's a pool and golf if the home is on a golf course. Then, track visitors to your website and retarget them via Google. We started the shift as soon as they made the announcement and our quality of leads have not gone down.

It does suck because I do pretty specific targeting. But it won't stop me from sponsoring listing ads. They work. And the bill I got for the past month is $33 holy moly can't beat that!

I am not using fb ads any longer. They did not seem to work. My FB personal page seems to work best at reminding those who i already know what i do and pits me in front of them when they ARE ready to buy or sell

Interesting. But will they really remove? Google is removing tracking, but is it all show just for.... general public? 

I am just not there ... yet.  Don't know if I ever will be. FB ads have not been my thing.

I'll probably end up spending my fb marketing money on boosting posts to my followers and to people who have visited my page/liked my past posts that were targeted.  Hopefully, some of the categories will prevail. I really like being able to not send ads to other realtors and I hope this will still be an option.

In the future, I think FB ads will be used to remind the sphere I'm here rather than to acquire new business.  

Likely I won't make FB part of my paid plan, I'll continue with FREE and move to more Google ads.

I never use adds that discriminate in any illegal way, if they are likely to buy or sell then I am hoping my posts are brought to their attention.

I do not pay FB for ads.

FB ads are a lot of whiz-bang with very little to no results. The least of my concerns from a marketing point of view, in fact, not even a concern at all!

I do have a Plan B.

However, FB, in my opinion remains the only advertising an agent needs to purchase.

I further suspect that a 100 BILLION Dollar lose in value will shake things up.

My concern is how that 'shake-up' will effect advertisers. Regarding the change is FB rules, whatever those changes are, we will abide or find ways to circumvent...in other words, business as usual.

Yes, those targeting options being removed are ones they got from third parties and that they got busted for in the Cambridge Analytics issue.  I've already removed most of mine and am targeting interests more than anything else.
