My husband retired from the Air Force in 2004 after nearly 22 years of service. He now works on Robins AFB.

On my Mother's side, my Uncle Anthony as well as My Father served during  the Korean War.  My Niece and My eldest Son were in the Marine Corp during the 1990's; my sister's husband fought in Dessert Storm; and I served in the US Army Reserves in the 1970's.

I was in the Army and served in Vietnam.  Came home to not such a warm welcome.

I have no American veterans in my family... none of us was born here until our grandchildren. My father is a veteran of WWII, my maternal grandfather was a veteran of WWI, but not American vets.

Andy, all of the men on both my parents' sides of the families served. My Dad's brothers all served in Vietnam. My Dad and my brother both served in the USAF, my brother graduating from the USAFA and then retiring from the Air Force. He flew F-15s and, after serving all over the world, retired at the same AFB that I was born!

I'm so appreciative of all of our Veteran's and active duty service men & women. 

I spent my early years flying in the USAF and loved everyminute of it.  The experiences, my friendships stay with me even today.  

With an AFB just out of town I see every day as a day to appreciate those who DO and HAVE served. My father served in WWII, One of my brothers served during Viet Nam, and my daughter is now officially in the National Guard Andrew Mooers | 207.532.6573 .

OMG yes, tail gunners in B-24 was THE most dangerous job, survival rate was less than 10%. My uncle was a tail gunner, I'm sure it was in the B-17.

My only son is now a vet at 30. Army. A few of my clients are veterans.

I come from a military family. My father is/was a disabled veteran WW2. 

My eldest brother served in the Air Force. Retired. Now does work for FEMA.

My second eldest brother was a top gun fighter pilot in the Navy.  Retired. Now does work for FEMA.

My eldest sister married a Navy man. I do not recall his rank when he retired but it was high. 

My next eldest sister married a Navy serviceman.  He served for 8 years.

My sister above me married a drunk.  HA - just had to add that to the family mix.  One of her daughters married a Navy man who serves to this day ... he is serving in his 12th year.  

I married a police officer and also worked for several police departments.  

We are very blessed not to have lost anyone at war. 

So many top-secret national security "stories" could not be told. 

My father 9 year Army vet.  My uncle (his brother) was Navy for a bit, when he wasn't AWOL :)  I spent 6 years driving ships from 1985 - 1991, and in the small world category my first C.O. had the bad luck of having my uncle work for him when the C.O. was first starting out :)

Too many to name. Had ancestors and relatives that were/are veteran's from Revolutionay War through Vietnam War.

Had a classmate who volunteered for service at a young age. His parents granted permission. It was all he wanted to do in life. Unfortunately, he lost his early in his career. I remember him everyday!

My father in law and have many friends in the Arm Forces.

On my father's side, his father, grandfather and other ancestors had medals and titles heaped upon them for their efforts, and he was an intelligence officer with the French during World War II in the Middle East and also had heroic exploits.

My Dad and most of my Mom's many brothers served in WWII. Unfortunately, my Dad died when I was fairly young and I never got to hear his stories.  I do have all the letters he and my Mom wrote to each other while he was away, though.  My Dad was very careful not to write anything too scary to make my Mom worry. Those letters are definitely one of my most valuable possessions. I'm very proud and grateful for all veterans.

My Dad was in the Navy during WW II and his 3 brothers were all veterans, too.

My grandfather, father-in-law, and brother-in-law are all Veterans who went overseas for wars. 

My father is a veteran of the Korean conflict. You are correct to say tomorrow(11/11) is not just a 24 hour honoring/acknowledgement. 

My Dad was a teacher and school superintendent during the war and was older at the time.

My grand-grand father did not return from the WW2

My father and his twin brother have both passed away, and they were both in WWII.... my uncle was a staff sgt.... my father was in the infantry....

   This year we celebrate on Sunday (Veterans Day) and on Monday (Observed Federal Holiday).  My son-in-law (USMC) and I (USAF) will be marching in the parade Monday.

Many of our family members have served in the military. A nephew is a Marine.

My father's father was a Captian in the English Army in WWI. My father served in the Marine Corps in WWII. His younger brother served in the Army Air Corp in WWII and I served in the Air Force in Vietnam.

My husband is a Viet Nam Vet.  Spent 14 months in Nam.  He was a mechanic on th guns.  He was in heavy artillery fire at all times.  

His story is as many others.  He suffers from PTSD Extremely.  100% PTSD Disabled.   

He has very little memory of his time there but records and friends document a lot of bad stuff he saw there.  Nothing he will even share.

I am proud to say we have been married since his return. 49 years now.

I love my vet.

My mom and dad were kids during WW2. 

My grandfathers were in army. Both returned safe.

For me, I have quite a few close friends who spend various time from 4 years to 20 years in the service. From 1 to 5 tours in Iraq and or Afghanistan. As always I special thank you to them and their families, today, Veteran's Day and every day

Not in my immediate family, but my Grandfather on my dad's side was a Marine and a pretty young member of the "Shellbacks".  Good stories around that.

My father (and Huggins Homes) was the official eastern Ventura County partner for the US Navy during the Clinton era base consolidations.

My dad was an Air Force Veteran. His funeral included an incredibly emotional playing of Taps by a uniformed Air Force member. My cousin, a Vietnam Veteran. Three of my four sons are or have been in the military. My husband was in the Navy. I am (at the moment) a Homes for Heroes affiliate, helping veterans and active military whenever I can. Anyone who volunteers (or was drafted) to serve our country has my utmost respect and gratitude. 

He must be small to squeeze into one of those Plexiglass balls.

B52 had a tail gun. The gun went off accidently hit another friendly fighter and that was the end of modern gunners.

My dad served in the Pacific in WWII. Same for uncles, one of whom was Air Force pilot who was lost in action in the Pacific Theater.

My father-in-law was in the Navy during WWII and served in the Pacific. A few years before his passing, he got the opportunity to visit Washington, D.C. as an Honor Flight member.

My wife lost an uncle in Vietnam.

Great uncles. now deceased, served in WWI in Europe.

I was not in the military. My respect and thanks go out to all who did serve our country.

My family lost 11.  Myy grand faher was sent home fron the front lines because he was the only living male for the family lineage.

Quite a variety of family members have served but few were career officers. 

Have had so many clients serve.
