Only if there is a reasonable association to the property in question.

I use photos of parks and community playgrounds but I have never used photos of a place that is not close to the property or directly relevant to the property listing.

Absolutely. Of course in CRE we use annotated maps that show where other national names and local businesses are located near and around the subject. But people want to know proximity to golf courses, casinos, Colorado River, this is a resort area.

For me it depends on the listing.... with New Construction, local sites may be more attractive than a Construction in progress!

Sure do because the local community flavor is the mortar around the current inventory of real estate listings. Local imagery, local community videos are as important as the FAQ explanations we blog about ... it's not just real estate listings getting the spotlight. Great photo! Carry your camera always.

Now that our Baltimore MLS allows 150 photos...there is plenty of space for the various area attractions. Maybe a zoo, playground, hospital, shopping center, park etc...

I have been to Harper's Ferry.  It's an incredibly beautiful place.

I don't remember doing so Jeff Pearl but I had the mentality that I was marketing to locals and they wouldn't understand why I would put such a picture in the MLS.

Yes, I do, if my allotment of photos doesn't have to be used up by home photos. I also add area photos to my web-marketing sites where I might not be restricted by the number of photos I can use.

At the end of the day, people don't just buy a house... they buy into the neighborhood and the area. And if you are in a big relocation area, people from outside the area appreciate getting a feel for it.

not really.  I live rural and nothing is really close.  I might if it was in walking distance.

Yes I do - in my videos which are also attached to my listing photos in MLS and all online sites.

I do use area photos

I sometimes use photos of local or community amenities such as views of golf course, club house, marinas, boat ramps, etc. as they relate to the property that is for sale. 

I have used surrounding area pictures many times. Have you been to Harpers Ferry Brewing yet on your side of the River? It is on the site of the Old Rod & Gun Club

Yes, now, when we can put a lot of pictures on MLS.

Photos of nearby, relevant locations or features help to provide additional interest to the location of the listing. 

Community and city pictures are great to put on MLS.

If I had any local attractions close to listing I would.  The most I get out here are neighborhood parks and hiking trails.  Sometimes universities.

Not generally as we are limited to 25 photos and often, it is tough to decide which photos not to use.

We would not use them as part of the MLs.  We would use them describing the lifestyle of the area. A
