Always important to do when an update is released. Good way to screw up everything you've previously done. 

   I remember when WordPress was easy.  Most people could DIY.   Those days seem to be fading away.

Yes.  Not concerned about Gutenberg, my site editor doesn't use it.  Disabling auto updates is a pain though.  Will want to run it in my staging first.

Yep! We learned that the hard way! Some of our sites broke!
And many hosting companies force the update even if you have auto updates turned off. Always something to have to scramble to work on!

Well, too late, I upgraded and it is a major PITA. Completely different. Seems to be made for a graphic designer with elements of QuarkXPress, remember that? LOL. 3 different scrolly bars. Not logical or well thought out. But I'm getting through it.

There is one new feature I really like but I forgot what it is because there are so many features I do not like.

I saw this yesterday, but was unable to comment.  I read the article from the link provided, but being that I am such a novice with website building, I am not sure if it will affect my websites or not.  I built my websites on Wordpress using Beaver Builder plugin, it was really easy to use at first, but even now it is difficult to use after an update a while back.  It sounds like eventually I will need to learn a lot more if I want to continue to update my websites.

Yes, been waiting for it. However, my site is now currently undergoing a complete overhaul so I will wait until after that and the RETS feed is in-place before "upgrading" to Gutenberg.
