I usta have an unlocked phone... until my daughter convinced me to password-protect it.

I insisted there was nothing of value on my phone, and if lost, I would have it locked by Sprint rather quickly.  She asked "Do you access your email on your phone... your bank account... your credit cards... all of your contacts??"  You might wanna put some simple protection on that against some potential pickpocket, or your accidentally leaving it on the counter of some department store.

She was right.

I don't lock my phone. It's always on my desk at home or in my purse (unless it's in my hand). I have very little on the phone in terms of information as it's not my go-to source for sensitive information.

Mine is locked and I use biometrics (my fingerprint or iris scan) to open it. Every 20 times or so, it will make me enter my PIN. I have too much personal, financial and other information on my phone to risk the wrong person accessing it. Plus, I am really lazy so it is nice to be able to just hold my finger or look at my phone to open it (though I have to take my reading glasses off for it to scan correctly).
