I have seen it. I have read articles where it is referenced. I don't "follow" it on a regular basis. Real estate is local. Understand the big picture but know your local market very well.

I saw a later post where you asked who he was and yes, I do follow the Case-Shiller Index.

I keep an eye on it. However, typically, when it comes out, the news is "old" for me and I've sourced my market's trends in other ways sooner than the index comes out.

It has to do with what home prices are doing in the metro city areas acrosss the country. The question is how the raise in interest rates may affect it this time in 2019?

Since I live in one of the metro areas, I do watch it, Peter.

I look at it, however I do feel that real estate is local, and has nothing to do with the overall real estate market of the US, Canada or Europe.  In our little community of Santa Barbara County, there are areas that are selling, areas that are not doing as well, etc...A

No, but I follow the case of water index.  That's holding steady, so inflation hasn't gone up any further.

The Case-Shiller Index is alway worth noting...along with a lot of other indicators.

I look at it but would not say that I follow it.

Yes & I don't find it helpful. In fact it is always behind what the real market is showing.
