Write something that someone wants to read. That's why every start of the year I review what got the most eyeballs.

Write original, engaging posts.

"Views" are not as important as connections in my opinion. 

Concentrate on what is valuable to you.

Have a take and don't suck.

...on one of your blog posts.

That is a great idea to focus on ONE post (a pillar post) that contains real fabric and links identified by topic.

For example, use this morning other question as a source of fabric for you blog post titled - EMERGING TRENDS.

Everyone on your list will have interest in the topics listed: decor/color, kitchen and cabinets, flooring, HVAC and energy alternatives.

Send a message, place an ad, buy some traffic, post a question, buy some print space about ONE of these topics at a time with a link to the appropriate section of the blog.

This strategy has a cascading effect.

If the analytics show blog visitors stayed for an average 0.007 nanoseconds, that means they did not see what they expected. This could mean they were repelled by a waterfall of words when they expected to see a picture.

If folks are reading and not leaving MEANINGFUL comments, my suggestion is to ENGINEER some imperfections into the blog. Give others the opportunity to show how brilliant they are. Engagement/provocation is the outcome the writer wants.

Take advantage of all the free social media share buttons.  Be sure to use intriguing titles to draw the view in.  

I have no secret formula. I share my posts on my social media and what happens, happens. And often there is no rhyme or reason as to which posts get lots of action versus others. The topic, however, can be a big determinant of the number of views.

Sharing on social media and a great title works for me. I’m more concerned with actual interaction and business than views however. 

I only have the obvious input - a catchy blog title follow by applicable content and then some social media promotion/exposer.

Share it on other social media.

Share on social media. Other than that, use key words to help it be found by the public when the search for terms

The ones that I have the most views on here in the Rain have the fewest comments, Peter. I share them on social media sites, people read, then they call. They never comment.

If you post quality information that your consumer is in search of and share the posts everywhere, you're far more likely to get calls from the consumer.

I try to keep it interesting and appeal to common sense, depth and purpose. Sensationalism and shock may work but it cheapens as it does...

No doubt about it, sharing on Twitter, Facebook and other social media will increase your views. You can track it by looking at your stats. You will see hits immediately after sharing on Twitter.

But the best juice is to write a Featured Post.

- Write a great post

- Like people have mentioned, share on social media.

- Link to it from your own website

- Ask other people to link to it

- Link internally from AR posts, etc.

If you have enough backlinks and your subject is not too competitive, you may start ranking on the search engines, then your views will increase.

Just kidding, but you could simply hit the refresh button several times and your view count will go up :)
AR has a flaw and does not stop the above from occurring.

I don't really concern myself with the number of views here.  I know my listing blogs here usually show up on page two or three of Google

Meaningful content, something you have observed that you haven't seen written about - it will somehow produce views. As Debe Maxwell, CRS said, sometimes the blogs with most views do not have the most comments. The connection is important - somebody calling you because of the blog post.

ActiveRain is not my focus on getting more views.  My focus is my WP sites.  I optimize SEO and share on social media.  AR is a good source for link backs to my site. 

A good / intriguing  headline & share all over social media works best
