Craigslist is known for such things, so, I do not utilize them

Our biggest problem is them taking down our rental listings and ghosting them.   Your would think that they could tell the difference between a local landlord and some crook in another country.

Fortunately, have not had this issue in years.

I set up google alerts for all my listings and usually catch it within a few hours and get it removed. 

Scams are everywhere.  I met a renter once and he said the landlord of a property whom he spoke on the phone asked for $6k in deposit.  He has not even seen the property yet.

No because we don't come near Craigslist. If clients want to work with us and they've got a CL ad up they need to take it down and we won't put one up. When we used it, nothing good came of it and I'm sure it's only worse now.

Seems wierd that they won't take them down. They always took mine down for no reason lol.

I've never had a problem ever, even when this was a big deal years ago.

Stopped using CL years ago when the scammers started and they stopped allowing links on posts

We had that scam up here a few years ago. Same scam, new location. 

Yes, it is a problem.

I do not post an address but do reveal the community.
The property is physically posted with warning notices stating, "If you are not talking directly to Annette Lawrence, you are very likely to become the victim of a scam."

Finally, the images of the home DOES include my signage over the front door and throughout the remaining images. And of course one image is text stating "If you are not talking directly to Annette Lawrence, you are likely to become  a victim of scam."

Notice: don't use same images with branding in your MLS.

We had that issue in our market a few years ago. We started making it a practice to check within a few days of listing a home to see if it had ended up on there. It's such a terrible thing to do and so many people fall for it.

Nothing major has occurred for quite a while but minor annoyances seem to always be interspersed in Craigslist activity. Usually it's recognizable.

I have not had a Cragslist scam problem in quite some time.

Yep, have had this happen several times. I  haven't advertised Craigslist for a while

I haven't had that happen recently but it happened a few years ago with my commercial listings. Flagging as fraudulent did not get it removed, I had to email Craigslist and explain that I was the LA and that my listings had been poached and were being scammed. CL took the posts down immediately.    

I've never participated on Craig's List....

If you are using the site it will require constant monitoring, getting to be a lot like FB with fake listings and even some of these are from agents.

For this very reason, I stopped advertising on Craig's List years ago. Scammers were having a blast high-jacking properties, and trying to convince prospects to send them money.

No not recently but I have had that experience on a listing a few years ago.

I have the Secretary of State on my speed-dial, Christine! It's RIDICULOUS how out-of-hand these scams have gotten. They steal your listings from other sites - photos and ALL! I don't even advertise on Craigslist either!

I get calls all of the time from renters asking why there's a for-sale sign in the yard of the home they just rented, where am I (looking for their key)...it's SUCH a time-suck!

It's happened when I've posted rentals in the MLS and they got pushed to zillow.  I've flagged them in the past (many years ago) and they were removed.  Can't really do anything else.  In my cases, there was always someone who drove by and saw my sign and called.  A couple of times, I had realbird brand some of my photos and I posted those places.  The crooks used those photos and I got calls directly from people looking at the craigslist posting.

I've filed police reports in the past, nothing can be done about it.  I just tell people to flag the post for removal.

I have never had issues with Craigslist not taking down the posts.  I would contact the authorities in this case.
