I had not seen this...it is a jungle out there! If the house was broken into as the article states, what puzzles me is why they did not request a police officer to be present to file a report. He would have been able to deal with the intruder as well so the agents did not have to put themselves in jeopardy.

I haven't heard about it. It's always smart to meet at an office then others also see who you are dealing with, when you don't know them.

Why are people in our industry constantly putting themselves at risk?  Call the police and let THEM be the first point of contact with this nut job.

The problem with stories like this is that it allows people to think that guns are a solution and make them bigger than life, therefore, putting themselves in stupid situations with a false sense of security.   I'm not anti-gun at all either.  I'm just anti-stupidity.

As for if I would carry a gun?  Only if I was trained, stress trained, to use it when necessary.  I'm not sure I would be able to pull the trigger which is why I don't carry one.  No sense bringing a gun into a situaiton if I am unsure I'd actually fire it.

I do carry a gun and damn right I'd shoot an attacker Wanda Kubat-Nerdin - Wanda Can! I wouldn't shoot to kill but I guarantee you I'd empty the chamber at non-vital areas below the belt and then consider reloading.

Those two agents showed far more restraint then I would have. He never would have punched me.

They should offer the Gun Permit License to you when you go for your Real Estate License. There are sickos out there who target woman Agents & if you hear all these stories you'd feel like it's Open Season on Agents.

Me personally, I'm built like a bear. I have absolutely no fear. I show homes to all our call-ins so my wife doesn't have to do it.

Wanda,

Why did they not call the police prior to visiting the home?  That is what I would have done.  What did the agent feel the need to be there without the police?  A

I did see this story very scary.  We have open carry in Texas; however, I still carry concealed.  If I were to enter a home as described in this article I would have done so with gun in hand.

No. I would not. A knock on the head means someone else has my gun. There is NO SUBSTITUTE for not going alone.  There is no level of personal protection that saves an agent from STUPID.

But, Sasquatch makes for an excellent armed guard.
