It is so depressing. I've been watching but I don't see enough fire fighters.

Yes, about 40 people posted this on FB. It is very sad to see something like this destroyed.

I heard and I highly doubt that it was related to construction. Some people inside the cathedral have denied the construction narrative as well. Much more likely an attack by "refugess" who have already been setting fires at other Christian and Jewish religious facilities across France.

Very sad but thankfully no one was seriously injured and many items had been removed prior to the fire. They will rebuild it and return it to it's grandeur but it will be costly and take quite a long time.
I read that the organ was saved for the most part - so beautiful. I am glad that I got to see it years ago and hope that I will get to see it again after the restoration is complete.

This affected me emotionally if for no other reason than the loss of irreplaceable architectural history.

Ray & I were looking through our photos this evening of the cathedral. We didn't remember seeing scaffolding when we were there and wanted to see if we just hadn't noticed. It is just so heartbreaking. A love of history lost today in Paris - such a sad day.

Amazing how many reconstruction contributions came in; Vatican still on the fence...

Having lived in Paris and prior to that having travelled there frequently on business, I consider it my "second home town." I'm heartbroken and all I could yesterday as I watched the news was to cry.

So sad! But glad to hear they were able to save many treasured artifacts by creating a human chain. What a powerful display of humanity. Looking forward to seeing Paris rebuild.

Survived so much to be destroyed by an accident now! We are hearing much was salvaged. It will be rebuilt!

Archaeologists are much aware of this subject as they search "ruins" (aptly named) for remnants of what was....So many secrets buried or lost
