The majority of buyers in Bellingham are coming from two areas - getting out of the traffic of the greater Seattle area and CA. Of course lots of other areas too but those two probably cover 70% or more.

The Chicago market has many pockets and impossible to sum it up succinctly!

ME is a great place but I'm concerned it will become to developed and ruined. I say stay home come and visit then go back

All over the country.  But, many of them want to escape the wet side (aka: West of the Cascade Mountains) of Washington.  They buy second homes or retire here in Central Washington.

Since we are so close to DC, the Government & elections bring in buyers from everywhere. I have many cousins in Northern Maine and a majority of the Maniacs I know never leave there.

Interesting information. Most people moving into this area of NY are coming from one of the NY boroughs.

We are on the NY border. People come here from NY. Our taxes may be high but we're still better than NY's.

As far as Santa Barbara, we have so many states that like it here...and a lot of second home owners from Los Angeles.  Florida where we have a long time clients come from the Eastern Seabord (thanks to high taxes), Germany, England and the Mid West. A

Everyone in IL is holding an exit sign. Do not know where they are going. Did see a couple of articles on it but don't know how accurate they are.

Sorry to hear that Andrew, only a matter of time before the CA folks move in too.

In our market, there are many relocators from all over the world but many are from California.  

LOL.... Buyers come from the phenomenal growth of our national and fabulous state economies, and the people that knows your daddy because they want to live near us. And because your daddy is the best. 

Mommy and daddy have more babies, doggies and cats, and need bigger houses for everybody to be in it.

With gas approaching $5/gal in San Diego, I am sure more will be leaving SoCal. Florida is getting huge influxes from the NE, including ME. Could it be the high taxes and brutal winters?

The most relocations to NH are from MA, CT and NY. My relocation business is booming with new buyers coming in.

I also lived in Maine and my daughter went to Band Camp at the University of Maine in Orono. She fell in love with a guy from Houlton and was seriously in love. There was a time I thought their love was truly heavenly.

In the past years, we had buyers moving here to enjoy recreational pot, sadly.

The San Francisco Bay Area has long been a great place to live. We are a job creation engine. Workers come from all over the world to take those well-paying jobs. The all have to live somewhere. Many of them chose to buy their own home.

I've worked with buyers from almost every state. It seems to go in waves but the majority are from NY/NJ. Then CA, CT, FL, IL, MA, MD, OH, and PA. I have recently had a few from NH.
