Yes, what we watch on TV can cause things to heat up in the room. 

Suze Orman will be proud of you for your suggestion especially if one of her infomercials is not playing.  

Dam, whatever's on that TV must be hot & steamy to raise the temperature on the thermostat... or maybe it's the heat coming out the back of the TV. One won't make you go blind.

Curious what the issue is?  LED TVs don't emit much heat.  Is it enough to fool the thermostat?  And of course, this is something you observed at a client's house, not your own, correct?  LOL

Turn on TV, adjust thermostat. Turn off TV, adjust thermostat. Or...move the TV.

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS in the last commercial building I was in the HVAC person installed the thermostat right under a vent. It was really stupid! We had to tape a sheet of paper above/over it to keep the hot or cold air off of it.

Well, my house does not have tvs at all.

That's a great tip, Paul... I'm trying to think if I've ever had a TV or anything sit in front of a thermostat and the answer is no.

Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS Not only your tv but any such item that emits heat.  I guarantee you that most never think of this.  Had a small decorative lamp with with minimal watt bulb in it on a console table near my thermostat.  Could not for the life of me understand why the A/C ran non stop.  Then an "ah ha" moment hit.  Moved the lamp to the other side of the table and problem solved.

That is a great point. I had a home where the refrigerator was move dto a wall with the thermostat and the home owner had a problem with the heat ot gives off.
