A buyer who does not like the color, just like any other aspect of a house, will factor to cost of making a change into the offering price.

You're 'safer' to keep it neutral/appropriate for the area.

We do our best to have them get rid of the color that most people don't like and paint it a neutral or popular color. 

I had this on an interior this year too - it was listed for 6 months with another agent. Seller listed with me, we had the home painted and then listed (same previous price). We had multiple Offers on Day-1 on the market! 

 The colors of this house make it look cheerful, like a cottage in Santa Cruz on the beach; but some others will see yellow ombined with purple as hippy. I think if they repainted  grill over crawl space to match the stairs it would tone it down - cheap fix just repaint the front lattice

We had this Orange Home for sale/rent. It rented. 

It depends on the house style, to some extent,and the community, but it could always be painted. Some styles, such a Victorian, are meant to be colorful.

It absolutely does.  It needs to be conforming to the style of the home and the neighborhood.  Something like the picture displayed in your question looks cute, but is VERY personal.  It may appeal to some, but not likely to the masses (or, let's face it, the neighbors).

There is a buyer for everything however why play long odds? 

Those homes where a Color Consultant was consulted before picking the paint color really stand out.

That color combination would encourage a new paint job in our area.

In our market, neutral colors are acceptable. Your bright example would sit.

I should not say this, but every blue house takes forever to sell.....ugh.... 

Color both inside and outside always has impact on a home sale.

Properties in my area don't have offensive colors that would affect the saleability of the home.

What Caroline Gerardo said. That home and paint job would do fine in any one of about 4 of our older neighborhoods about town. There's more than one similar home with similar paint choices.

Indeed and in most cases with the proliferation of HOAs and Architectural review committees, your example would draw a great deal of negative attention.

I say it does based on the buyers reaction. That's hard to pull off now with all the internet photos & all. I see it everyday with one color or another with a buyers bias.

Yellow is not the magic color, neither is light blue.

People are too lazy to repaint or even think about it. 

In our area...I don't think this one would be a big hit...but, they say there's a buyer for every house.!

It may look garish to some, but I would still go in and take a look, and if I liked it, I would repaint.  I like the looks of the home (architecture wise).  A

The old painted lady... not very attractive though. Blue seems to be hot right now as a choice in new construction, followed by a tie of yellow and white. 

No choices in downtown Chciago with the highrises, but can be a concern in the suburbs. Some Victorian historical homes could have exteriors with as many as 7 colors. Rare but there!

We do not have many bright homes, and that is not as important as a great outdoor area preferably with a pool and gazebos for relaxing and entertaining. 

In some areas, this is accepted, but remember a home I tried selling with NO HOA, and the neighbor's home was painted fushia.   My listing never sold.

I like the color combination but not on a house.  Neutral is the way to go.

I'm guessing that home is owned by a hippie type and the interior probably has similar cheerful colors.
