the market is good... the team has a great income this year.... people are selling and we are getting calls.... I'm working for it and getting it.... 

should we go into a recession, there will always be business.... I've seen the market changed a zillion times.... slightly to drastically.... money was made no matter what the market conditions were.....and that's how the future will be.... I don't think about the possibility of a recession.... it won't matter...we will adjust.

I am sick of the media who obviously have nothing to do but keep pushing a story and an agenda.

I have been known to talk to myself about lots of things.  Answers too.  

I opened my brokerage in the last recession and conduct its business in a way to handle the next recession. When this happens (and I say "when" because all markets are cyclical), we will be ready - plus opportunities are always there. We just need to recognize them when they come.

Markets are cyclical, what goes up must come down and vice-versa, the media is stupid and thoughts are things.

It's all about perception.  If someone is focused on the negative, that's often what they experience.

It won't be talking, but politicians creating uncertainty in the markets through their lack of decisive bipartisan action. Will it affect real estate? Depends on how the consumer perceives the future benefits of buying/selling real estate and the effect on their goals/lifestyle.

Two years ago, here on AR, some were asking "Are we headed towards a recession?"

The answer is always, 'Yes."

That what market forces do, bear to bull.

Will more homeless be created? Yep. But that was going to happen anyway.

The good news is we don't see Bank of America creating FAKE money by corrupting  Moody's.

As the volume on the reparations situation gets cranked up, that issue may be the debt that brings the nations unsustainable debt load, like global warming, to the front of irresponsible governance. Then recession will be more than a talking point.

No talk needed, plenty of mistakes made that will take us down that path, starting with the trump tariffs.

It's been predicted for the last 2 years, it's cyclical and coming, but the laws of inflation and economics are driving it not conversation. Been there done that, people, buy and sell in all markets, after 20 years I can't chicken little anything in this industry.

With the world's economy on the brink of collapse, a recession will likely come whether we want it to or not.  Germany's economy is failing and they're the 4th largest in the EU and have been bailing out many other EU countries for years.  That's stopped.  The EU, regardless of Brexit, is on the verge of an economic collapse and other economically viable EU countries may leave once Brexit happens.  I don't see the EU making it to 2030.

We have Japan at negative interest rates and many European countries at or near them as well.  Think on that for a minute.  Negative interest.  In other words "You pay the bank to store your money."  Who would do that?  How many will pull their money out?  How will banks be able to lend to businesses or future home owners if they have little to no depositors?

Add in the psychotic mess that is "Modern Monetary Theory" or MMT, where the primary concept is "let's just print more money."  That will likely lead to inflation or the dreaded hyper-inflation (like what Macronesia had in the early 2000s).  There my economics professor witnessed a man with a wheelbarrow full of money going to the grocery store.  He was robbed... for the wheelbarrow because it was worth more than the giant pile of money inside it

I don't know if our talking will push anything along, I think it'll be other factors. Our talking about it certainly took it's effect on the stock market, as they factored in the risk allready & it seems to have dipped & now bounced back to where it was. I don't see it hurting Real Estate at the moment, rates are historically low & prices here are still quite reasonable- it'll effect us if companies start laying people off or if people's jobs are in jeopardy. Uncertainty doesn't lead to buyer confidence but we are early in the "talking" stage & I personally don't see the weakness that the news is broadcasting.

I don't know if talk can cause a recession but I'm certainly seeing a lot of prognosticators claiming that one is coming.

Probably, but beyond my control. When conditions are good most thrive, when conditions are bad I seek a bigger share of the smaller pie!

It appears that way to me Peter! The fascination with the inverted yield curve is certainly a curiosity to many.

 How stupid is that whole mess. STUPID.

No one can talkus into one but they are a natrual event but lets hope it is a normal correction when it happens.

To answer the first question, it seems like the media loves to talk about anything that might show the economy slowing down. Second question, if they keep it up it will, and I think, it has slowed down real estate.

Always have  ressions sometime just a matter of when.

Of course it will affect real estate and it's not talking that creates recessions; we are on our way, slowly at first.

Nothing that I can say or do will change the future economic course of this country.

During the last recession, it was hard to sell houses. Buyers were afraid that the value of whatever they bought would be less soon after the purchase. Then, the economy turned around, most buyers missed the change and bought later as prices moved up.

I said it a year ago. That the with everything they through at Trump not working, they will have to go after is #1 accomplishment the economy.
