Jason, I would be sending the kidlets DIRECTLY to the LENDER of choice to work with them on credit. Our 'golden boys' locally will stick with us and our clients (not always kids) to get them in financial shape for preapproval.

I can listen, ask questions, ccontinue to listen carefully, ask more questions.  If I think it is the next logical step a conversation with a mortgage professional will determine if now is the right time to purchase or how that plan should proceed.  This is a strategy that can work regardless of age.

I would not send them online. They can start with a credit builder card from their own bank. Even one with a $500 limit. Buy what you already buy, gas or groceries. Pay it off every month all but say $50. It will build credit without putting you in debt

I realize a lot of the younger generation want to watch "how to" videos and then "just do it". And, there may be some good advice out there. However, repairing your credit or saving for a down payment is a personalized process. I'd start with your best lender who offers direction. Sometimes the lender can help and other times they may need to refer them to a credit repair agency. They could get advice for saving for a downpayment from the lender or a financial adviser. Perhaps you can offer monthly seminars. Either way, stay involved in the process. Videos can get them off track and unfocused.

Start having a first-time buyer clinic at the office with your lender and sometimes an attorney. The lender will often bring food and the attorney will offer their office for a venue away from the office that might get more attendee's.

Best thing it to have them choose a loan officer / lender that they plan to stick with, and ask the loan officer for guideance on improving scores. You can probably give them the basics, like pay bills on time, don't open new accounts unless laon officer ok's it, don't buy anything on credit before closing, beware of credit repair advertisements, reduce debt if needed, check with for approved housing counselors( many are non-profit), keep credit card balances less than 50% of total debt, don't co-sign,  etc.

Refer them to a local, reputable. experienced mortgage person who will relay pertinent information in person. That is what I do to first timers Jason.

I would hook them up with my preferred lender and let the lender guide them. I would rather have them guided by a pro than send then off with no oversight.

While there are many great resources to be found online, Jason Nenadov ... and they will give solid basic information regarding credit building/repair and more, nothing can replace the individualized information and attention gained by talking with an experienced mortgage lender.  They are assured of getting the detailed personal individualized information and advice they need to get on-track for homebuying.  It also affords them the opportunity to ask questions and have real dialogue regarding those things they find most confusing or troubling about their own finances/credit.  

As far as some websites/online info, please introduce them to ... as it gains them access to their free credit report, provides them vital info, and is a great place to start their home buying journey.
