The best tool I have to do basic math problems is my head... I can add, subtract, multiply and divide just using my head. If that fails, there's always pencil and paper and/or a calculator.

1% of math problems are encountered by those agents who have achieved the status of transaction architect.  Very often their calculations involve bigger data sets.

A financial calculator is more than enough with an Excel spreadsheet if I need to document something. 

I still have the HP12C financial calculator that I used in grad school decades ago.  Carry it around in my backpack but seldom pull it ut as my phone has an app with the same capability.
