What will prove more important is knowing the duties of the broker to the agent and how that will be verified. Every agent who has left a broker will understand the broker to agent obligation is the weak link.

THEN juxtapose the agents obligation (which is mainly share the wealth) then you will wonder 'Why do I have no other choice?"

You are their employee and must follow their rules!  This includes dress codes, minimum commissions charged, office meeting attendance, etc.

 

According to California LAW, you are only an independent contractor as far as wages, insurance and benefits are concerned.  For the rest, you are legally an employee and even must sign an employment contract.
